The Woods, chapter 1
I felt the wind hit my face and back but I didn't hear the sound of the chopper until after I took my headphones off. ''What the fuck is a helicopter doing in this shitty little town?'' I thought, as it landed in the next field over to the one where I was walking my dog, Duff. Someone jumped out of the helicopter and waved their arms in the air to show that they wanted me to go over to them. I looked behind me to see if they could be waving to anyone else but there was no one there. I didn't know anyone with a helicopter but I went over anyway. As I stomped though the long grass I heard a voice I recognised, at first I didn't know if I was hearing things or not, but I kept walking closer and closer. Then two more people jumped out from the chopper and then I was sure I wasn't dreaming. It was Billie Joe, Tre cool and Mike drint. I ran the rest of the way pulling Duff along with me almost chocking him. I stopped a few feet away from Billie Joe. ''Hey kid,'' he called over the noise of the helicopter.
''You're Green Day aren't you?'' I yelled.
''God, we cant go anywhere can we?'' He glared, and signalled for Mike and Tre to go back.
''No, wait! I shouted! No one in this crappy town will of heard of you, let alone want to talk to you!''
Tre looked at Billie Joe with pleading eyes and so did mike ''Oh Billie cant we stay just for a bit? Just to eat something and take a shower please please can we?'' Tre moaned like a little kid.
''Okay,'' Billie Joe sighed. I smiled at Mike and Tre they both smiled back. ''So what brings you fine people to my neck of the woods?'' I asked jokingly they looked at each other and didn't say anything for a few seconds, and then Mike said ''Fancied a break from all the press and stuff ya'know?''
''Yeah I guess it can be hard for you some times,'' I offered helpfully.
''So do you live around here?'' asked Billie Joe.
''Yes but I am staying with my Nan for the weekend, as my parents are out of town for a bit.''
''How come you'll not allowed home alone?'' asked Mike in suppress.
''I am, but its just for this weekend as my grandad is ill. I'm going home tonight,'' I said.
''I hope its not to rude if we use your place to crash for a bit is it?'' said Tre.
''Erm... I was going to have some friends over but okay.''
''No, its okay to barge in on her home like that is it Tre?'' growled Billie Joe
''Yeah sorry...'' began Tre.
''No no no its fine! If you need a place to stay all you need to do is ask,'' I butted in.
''Well, if you're offering to let us then I guess its okay...'' grined Mike. Billie Joe sighed, but agreed to say for a bit; so him and the boys could freshen up and get a good meal inside of them.

''So kid, what's your name? You know all our names what's yours?'' asked Billie Joe.
''My names Jenny but my friends call me Jen.''
''How old are you then Jen?'' smiled Tre
''Just gone 18, I want to move out of the town but my family wont let me go until I have a job.''
''Well, Billie Joe is 21, Tre is 20 and so am I.'' said Mike.
''So you're all young then???''
''Yeah, but I thought you knew everything about us like everyone else,'' sighed Tre.
''Just because I have your record it doesn't mean I know all the stuff about you lot!''
They all looked at each other and grined.
''So what do you do for fun?'' said Mike
''Not a lot you can do to have fun here, but there is a cool little woods about a mile away from here. When I was a kid I used to think it was a magic forest!'' Jenny grined feeling stupid.
''It sounds like a laugh.''
''Huh? It can be." Tre sniffed hard and pulled a face. ''Man, I smell funky.''
I giggled and told them that they could take a shower and got some food from the fridge.
Once they where all fresh and clean and fed Billie asked, ''Do you want to show us this wood thing now?’’
‘‘Oh yeah, sure. I'm guessing that you don't want to walk a mile, so I will get the big bike.''
‘‘Big bike?'' they said in surprise
'' It’s this bike that four people can go on at once, we can ride there.''
‘‘Cool! We need the exercise after the feast you prepared for us.'' Mike said patting his full stomach.
It was a long ride, but mostly downhill so it didn't take long to get there.
Under the trees Jenny felt safe and the fact the she was sharing her special place with people she idolize made the whole thing seem unreal and magical.
‘‘Wow this place is magical,'' gasped Tre in awe.
‘‘Yeah it’s weird isn't it? I feel so peaceful here…'' agreed Billie Joe.
''I'm glad you like it.'' I said happily
‘‘So Jen do you come here often'' asked mike
''Not as much as I did when I was going though some hard times, but when I feel scared or sad I come here for comfort. It helps me to think about what I want to do then I go back and thing kind of sort them self's. My first proper boyfriend and I came here to put our names to a tree when I was 14. It felt so special I never wanted it to end but then...'' I could feel my eyes filling with tears I bit my lip.
‘‘Its okay you don't have to tell us if you don't want to,'' whispered Mike
‘‘No I will be okay it’s just that he died two years ago from this Friday coming
Tre Billie Joe and Mike looked at me and I knew they felt my pain.
‘‘We have felt loss before as well I know it hurts for a long time but the wounds do heal it just takes time.'' said Billie Joe softly. I sniffed and wiped my eyes. I felt a bit silly crying in front of people.
Mike put his arm around my shoulders to try and comfort me. I hugged him partly to hide my face partly for the comfort from his warm soft smell. He rubbed my back and told me that it would be okay. Then Tre hugged me too and so did Billie Joe. I felt a bit squashed but at least I had stopped crying.
'' Do you feel better now?'' Mike asked.
‘‘If she don't I sure do,'' joked Tre trying to lighting things up a bit. I was grateful for it. We carried on with the walk until I remembered this little hideout that I made years ago. I gasped and run over to this little stream that winded and twisted through the side of our path. ''Quick! Come with me this is totally cool you have to see it!''
‘‘See what, a river?'' asked Tre.
‘‘No, just come with me!''
They looked puzzled but followed anyway. I ran next to the stream until it opened up into a big lake. Past the lake was a huge waterfall, I waited for them to catch up. ''You’re going to get a bit wet.'' I said and ducked under the fall and came out into this small cave. Outside Billie Joe took a breath and ran into the cave. About 3 seconds later Tre and Mike ran in. The cave was cold and damp and water dripped down the sides of the cave walls......
''You're Green Day aren't you?'' I yelled.
