Welcome To Paradise: SCHOOL, chapter 2
Lesley glanced at her watch. No, the time hadn't changed much in the last 10 seconds. She sighed. "I guess they'll be going in now...well, what can I do? I threw a life vest, & it was refused. At least I saved myself. From 3 hours standing in a stuffy hall, everyone around me dancing to music I was sure would make my ears bleed. Not to mention the looks that would be thrown at me." And once, chewing gum.
She returned to her doodling. There was a knock on the window. Lesley sat up. "JEEZ! I nearly had a heart attack!" Billie Joe laughed as she let him in through the window, Mike & Tré behind him."You rang?" he questioned.
"No...not exactly, but I'm glad your here. Boredom sucks."
"So, this No-name thing, it's a disco, right?"
"Yeah, in a hotel in the village. Kellie, Shaúna & CaitrÃona are gone to it. I swear, I'm beginning to think they're posessed."
She looked at Tré. "What's wrong with you? Are you cold?" He was rubbing his hands together.
"No, isn't this what those evil dudes do when they have a cunning plan up their sleeve?"
Lesley laughed. "I suppose. Well, whatcha got up there?" she said, pinching his sleeve.
"A little word I like to call......destruction", he said.
"OOOooooooo", Mike mocked.
"Hows about we go turn these people's around?" Tré said, ignoring Mike.
"More like upside-down...." Billie Joe joined Tré, that glint appearing in his eye."Litterally."
"Wait!" Lesley picked up the phone & dialled.
"Abaigh, you get your ass over here right now!"
"I can't....homework...."
"HOMEWORK?! Hang on a sec." She handed the phone to Billie Joe.
"Uh....this is Billie Joe....you should come over, you don't you'll be missing out...."
There wasn't an answer. She'd hung up. A few seconds later the doorbell rang. Lesley ran downstairs & opened the door slowly."Changed your mind?"
"Psssh. What we gonna do?" Abaigh asked. Lesley grinned. "Patience, is a virtue."
She called up the stairs. "READY?!"
"Uh huh."
They grabbed onto Billie Joe. A few seconds later they were on the door-step of the hotel. The five strolled in casually. The corridor was empty. "Great security system", said Mike. They found their way to the hall. With one kick from Tré, the double doors swung open. Everyone looked at him. "Hey, I know how to make an entrance", he shrugged.
"Where do we start?" No point in asking, Mike had already set his sights on the chairs. One by one they were turned over. The crappy rave music was still blaring. He flung a chair at the speaker. "That's better", he said.
Abaigh walked over to the DJ, handed him a copy of american idiot, & walked away again, leaving the DJ puzzled.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" someone asked.
"Having fun", Lesley replied. The expression on Jodie's face delighted Lesley.
After a good trashing, Lesley spotted a shocked Kellie, Shaúna & CaitrÃona & went over to them. "I think this disco's finished. Need a lift home?"
Later, when they got back....
"And you were gonna miss this for homework?" Lesley said to Abaigh.
"I know", she said, rolling her eyes.
Lesley turned to CaitrÃona. "I think I've proved my point," she grinned. "You can never say to me again 'I don't want to go' isn't an excuse."
"Mum's the word", she said. "Did I just say that?"
Billie Joe teleported them home."One heck of a night", Lesley thought as she climbed into bed. "Hell yeah", she heard in her head. She went to sleep, satisfied.
The night was great, & Monday morning was just as brilliant.
