Twist of Fate, chapter 4
Alexis had heard of this band before, but she never was a big fan. "Alexis," Tabitha said coming to stand beside her. "I want you to meet some people." Alexis was kind and smiled and chatted with everyone who talked to her. This really wasn't her thing, but she decided to let loose a little bit for Tabitha's sake. She was talking to this rather cute guy when Tabitha came back to her side. "Can I borrow her," she asked politely to the guy. "Great," she answered before he even said anything. Tabitha pulled her over to a new group of people. "I was told the band is arriving in a few minutes," she said.
"Ok," Alexis said. Alexis and Tabitha moved towards the door as well as everyone did as they waited for the band to arrive. "Do you know any of these guys?" Alexis asked Tabitha.
"No," Tabitha said. "I've just heard of them. One of my friends knows them very well though, and she said they were awesome." Alexis nodded and turned to look at the door as people were clapping and cheering. Alexis moved over to get a better look and saw a gorgeous guy with jet black hair and piercing green eyes.
"Wow," Alexis said. "Is he in the band?"
Tabitha came to her side and looked over at the guy. "Yeah," she answered. "That's Billie Joe and the taller guy next to him is Mike and the one in the back is Tre." Alexis looked over at Mike. He was pretty good looking too. Then she looked behind at Tre.
"Oh my God, Tab," she gasped.
"What?"
"It's that guy," Alexis said pointing at Tre.
"What guy?"
"From the plane, it's him, it's Tre." Alexis couldn't believe it. She never thought she would see him again. He looked just like he did when she first bumped into him. He was smiling, and it was the same smile he had smiled before. She looked at his eyes again, those gorgeous blue eyes. Then she noticed they were looking back. Alexis quickly looked away and turned around grabbing Tabitha to follow her. "What should I do?" She asked feeling confused yet excited too.
"What do you mean? Go talk to him!" Tabitha said this as if it were the easiest thing in the world.
"I'm not like you Tab," Alexis said. "I can't just talk to him." Alexis was burning up. "Is it hot in here?" She said fanning herself.
"Look just do it," Tabitha said giving her a push.
Alexis took a deep breath. "Yeah, I should just do it." She turned around and came face to face with Tre. "Oh," she said caught off guard. "Hey!" Alexis's heart was beating fast. She swore he could hear it, and then what would he think. He smelled so good. This is stupid, Alexis thought, get a hold of yourself.
"Hey," he answered. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"Um... I think we met on the plane this morning," Alexis said trying to keep calm.
"Hey, that's right," he said. "I'm Tre." He said holding out his hand and smiling.
"I'm Alexis," Alexis said shaking his hand and returning the smile. He had strong arms.
"So why are you here," Tre asked.
"I'm here with my friend. I just moved in with her."
"Oh, where did u live before?"
Alexis paused for a moment. "South Dakota," she finally said. "Yes, I know lame."
"No I think the Midwest is great," he said laughing. "You want to get a drink?"
"Sure," Alexis answered following him over to the bar.
"So what were you doing in South Dakota?" Tre asked once they had both gotten a drink and sat down.
"Well I graduated from collage and I never left. I was working one crappy job after another. Then Tab called me up and proposed I come out here. So, I did the one spontaneous thing I've ever did in my life, applied for a job, got it, and moved out here."
"So you have a job here?"
"Yeah, I start tomorrow. It's this small record company."
"Oh, so you like music."
"Yeah, ever since I was little." Alexis couldn't believe how it was so easy to talk to Tre. Unlike other big stars he asked about her.
"Alexis," Tre was saying.
"What? I'm sorry what did u say?"
"Do you want to dance?"
"Sure." Alexis followed Tre onto the dance floor and she started to dance. Tre was all over. Alexis was laughing too hard for awhile to dance even. Then she let loose. When she was with Tre she didn't care what people thought. They danced for a while until a slow song came on.
"Do you want to?" Tre asked coming closer and scooping her into his arms. Alexis melted into him. He was so protecting, secure. It was so natural to be like this, yet so weird. She still didn't know much about Tre, but she felt she had known him all along. When the song was over they kept dancing. It was getting really late when Tabitha came to find Alexis.
"Lex," Tabitha said pulling her away from Tre. "Do you want to go?"
"Right now?" Alexis asked not wanting to leave so soon.
"Lexie, it's 1 in the morning."
"Really," Alexis asked shocked looking at the clock. "Maybe I better go. I'll just say goodbye." Alexis went back over to Tre. "Hey I should get going." She said looking at Tre.
"Right now? How 'bout I take you home?"
He looked so adorable. How could Alexis just leave? "Ok." She went back over to Tabitha to tell her. "I think Tre is going to bring me back."
"Oooo," Tabitha said. "Ok slut just don't have too much fun."
"Shut up!" When Tabitha walked away Alexis went back over to Tre. "You know I do have to work tomorrow."
"Fine, we'll go in a little bit. I just need to introduce you to some people." Tre led Alexis over to a group of men. "Hey guys," he said.
"Tre, where have you been all night?" One guy asked. Then catching sight of Alexis he added, "I see."
"Guys, this is Alexis," he said ignoring the guys comment. "Alexis, this is Billie Joe, Mike, Jason, and Dan."
"Hi," Alexis said looking at them all.
"I just wanted you guys to meet, but we have to get going," he said quickly pulling Alexis away.
"Why the hurry Tre?" Alexis said getting pulled out of the door.
"I though you said you had to go?"
"I do," Alexis agreed. "But we could've talked to them."
"C'mon," Tre said ushering her pass the paparazzi and into the limo. On the drive to Alexis's house they made small talk. Once the limo pulled up Alexis got out and walked to the door. Tre followed.
"Well thanks for keeping my company tonight," Alexis said. As soon as the words left she wished she could take them back. It sounded wrong.
"No problem," Tre said. "It was my pleasure." Then there was an awkward silence. It hadn't happened all night, and it felt so wired. Alexis decided to end it. She reached up and kissed him. His lips were surprisingly soft. She placed her hand on his neck and pulled him closer. His tongue slipped in her mouth and she invited it. The kiss was so good Alexis never wanted it to end, but she pulled away. "Can I call you?" Tre asked.
"Sure," Alexis said handing her phone number to him. "I'll see ya." She turned and walked in. As she shut the door she leaned her back against it and slid down. What a night! I can't believe that just happened, she thought, and I never thought I would see him again.
"Ok," Alexis said. Alexis and Tabitha moved towards the door as well as everyone did as they waited for the band to arrive. "Do you know any of these guys?" Alexis asked Tabitha.
