Birmingham - NIA, January 22nd, 2005

I was shocked at how big the NIA actually was! It was huge from the outside but when I got into the main room, phew! I just had to get a better view of the whole place, It seemed like it could hold way over 20,000 people but I don't think that there was that many people there. When New Found Glory kicked in the crowd really got going but when the big pink bunny came on stage and did the YMCA, people were running to get closer! When the bunny had done, Green Day came onstage and began. It was a great atmosphere! The songs that got the crowd going mainly were Minority, When I Come Around and Good Riddance. Billie Joe must have been so tired after all that dancing and running around! When they did Knowledge, they got 3 people out of the crowd, a drummer, a guitarist and a bassist. When they had done Billie Joe gave his guitar away, Tre gave the drummer some of his drumsticks (I'm not sure what Mike gave the bassist) At one point, Billie Joe dived into the crowd at one point and had to be fished out by two security guards! Ace Night! Anyone going on the American Idiot tour will never forget such a good experience!
