Plymouth - Plymouth Pavillions, February 1st, 2005

So doors opened at 7:00pm and I made my way in through the crowds and ran down to the front. I got about 3 rows from the front and as typical being short I got a tall person infront of me. Well, as the time went on you coud feel the arena getting more and more full and the amount of fans who came to see Green Day were flooding in. It was rumoured that Sugarcult where the first support band but they didn't come on stage.

10 minutes late, at 7:40, the stage was filled with New Found Glory. I'm not over keen on the band myself but I'll agree they put on a good performance and did a good job and getting us all ready for Green Day. However they had the bass a little to loud so it did drown out the rest of the band throughout the set and then the lead singers microphone broke half way through a song which then ended by the crowd singing the words.

Then the worst happened. Someone untied my shoelace and well my creepers where slipping off so I had to make my way from the front to the very back. I made my way up onto the balcony where I sat and did my laces up really tight and watched a few more songs played by New Found Glory, then slowly made my way back to the standing area and just mangled with some other fans at the back. The last song New Found Glory played was i think *My Friends Over You* but i cannot confirm this. They then thanked Green Day for letting them be part of this massive tour and then thanked us for being supportive and respecting New Found Glory. Then left the stage.

Then I made my way back through the crowd and got about 10 rows back. Then just moving myself through the crowd on occasions to then the stage went black,

Then here came the Pink Bunny.

The Pink Bunny got a loud cheer and got the fans ready. Starting by chanting Green Day many times and got the crowd to join in, then downed his beer and pulled out a CD Player to then play The Ramones - Blitzreig Bop. Getting the crowd singing to those who knew the song which then at the end was a small firework and the stage went black.

All then that was heard was the Star Wars theme tune then as a loud roar on came Tré then followed by Mike then Billie Joe. Billie Joe took his stand center stage and played palm muted the 1st chord of American Idiot for about 15 seconds to then be joined on stage by Jason White and Jason Freese and played American Idiot the crowd went mental a huge circle started and the crowd rocked the arena. Then American Idiot ended with huge fireworks with a loud cheer. Billie Joe then introduced the next song Jesus Of Suburbia. Jesus Of Suburbia rocked the house the whole crowd sung until about *I Dont Care* where it was odd singers which included myself who didn't miss a single word through the whole gig. As the final chord of Jesus Of Suburbia was played the crowd went mad once again. Billie Joe then screamed to the crowd "This song is a big 'Fuck You' to George W. Bush" which got a mixed response and went into Holiday. This was a huge fan favourite.

After many movements of the crowd during Jesus Of Suburbia i managed to find myself about 5 rows form the front. Mainly via running in and out of pit circles :D Billie Joe then came to the right corner where I was and did his usual crazy antics and finished the rest of the song. Billie Joe then dedicated the next song to his friend St. Jimmy on came "Are We The Waiting". I've heard that there was an extra guitarist but Billie Joe was infornt of me so I was watching him the whole song.

Billie Joe then got out his Water Pistol and squirted me right in the face and then ran along the stage squirting people as he passed by. He then picked out a boy from the crowd and gave him another Water Gun and made him join him spraying the crowd. The boy then walked off to the next song of "St Jimmy" Then during this song I made my way a few rows forward and ended up squeezing inbetween to guys to appear at the barrier :D Jason White and Jason Freese then left the stage whilst Tré played the intro to the next song "Longview". This started up many circles along with the next song "Hitchin' A Ride". After Hitchin' A Ride, Billie Joe stood center stage on a box and played with the crowd for a bit by playing parts of Brain Stew having half the crowd Cheer and then play the next line with the other half Boo, This was then repeated for about 5 minutes and then Brain Stew began. Then on came Jason White and there was a quick musical jam and then went into Jaded. This got the crowd going again it was a 2000 person circle whereever you looked.

Then Billie Joe introduced everyone on stage started from Tré Cool on drums ending with Jason Freese on Keyboards and Saxophone. Then having a little musical jam going into Knowledge. Not many people in the crowd knew this song apart from about 5 people including myself. We sang from the top of our hearts to let our voice be heard. Then Billie Joe stood infornt of me and played the guitar solo. Then they made their band on stage.
Billie Joe first got a drummer from the left of me, Tré taught this kid how to play the song whilst Mike came to the edge and pointed at me and said "Can you play Bass" i was like "Oh My God" and foolishly said "I'm not that good though" to which he then replied "OK, You having fun" I replied "Awesome dude" and he then wondered off and found the bass player. Then Billie Joe picked out a guitarist from the left. He then taught the girl how to play and she finished the song. Billie Joe then gave the guitar to the girl and she went offstage. Billie Joe then called back the bassist and made the crowd chant "Joe" as he ran up for a stage dive.

They started playing "Basket Case" which got a huge reception from the crowd then the circles opened up again. Then Billie Joe jumped in the air and "She" began to start. Not many people knew this song suprisingly.

Then on came the trumpet and saxophone. Tré, Mike, Billie Joe and Jason walked off stage. The lights went dim and then Billie Joe returned with his crown and cloak and then did a few "Hey Ho" chants and then Tré, Mike and Jason returned with these huge hats and wigs. Then they started "King For A Day" this had lots of laughter throughout the song. It was great accompianed by the Trumpet and Saxophone. Billie Joe then walked back onto his box and sang "Weeelllllll" here came a great cover of "Shout" which had Mike and Jason at points joining arms and running back and forth kicking their legs up high.

After "Shout" Billie Joe sang the intro to "Letterbomb" and then said "This goes out to Johnny Ramone" This was a great moment for myself to give my respect to Johnny and everyone else who wanted to show their support for him. Then when everyone thought it was going to be "Letterbomb" it ended up being "Wake Me Up When September Ends" The crowd went silent and watched Billie Joe center stage until later joined by Mike, Tre and Jason. Lighters where being held up as a ceromony to Johnny. Then came "Minority" which went down really well. Billie Joe then gave out his antics half way through the song. The stage then went dark as the main set was now over.

Then Tré came back on stage and put some headphones on. Then the rest of them came back and took their positions as they began "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams". Then on came "When I Come Around" they both got a loud response from the crowd. Then Jason Freese played the keyboard and then went into "We Are The Champions" the crowd cheered and sung along. Tré then picked up his floor drum and smashed it through the drums. Mike threw a handful of plectrums into the crowd and Tré threw his drumsticks. I caught one in mid air but then some heartless idiot infront of me stole it out of my hands and ran away. If your reading this "i hate you". Then the huge confetti machine went off and the arena was covered in a mass of red, white and green Green Day designed confetti. The stage was cleared and Billie Joe stood center stage and played Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) A huge response from the crowd as the whole arena sung along. Billie Joe then left the stage to a huge response of cheers.

It was an awesome night and one of the best nights of my life. As a final note if anyone found a Green Day - Warning Hoody, can I have it back, please :D
