Milton Keynes National Bowl - England, June 18th, 2005
Well the second night of Green Days biggest show yet, rocked with a capital R. Here is my view, how I saw everything.
Me and my friend Katie had been waiting for months for the gig to come, we first heard about it in a dt lesson I brought my radio thing in and we heard about it.
On our way there, we stopped at a gas place thing, we saw some people in Green Day tops, it could have been you! When we got there it was too hot. Now I mean hot. Not as hot as Billie Joe but sure was close!
The first thing I noticed was the massive kick ass warning signs on the side of the stage!
They were so so cool! And the flags all hanging from the lights they were also rad. Hard Fi were the first band on stage, they were okay but a littlel bit too indie for my liking, they did a kick ass cover of Seven Nation Army though!
I didn't really like Taking Back Sunday, I was walking around looking for shade and we saw a lad having a nature pee - ew. We decided to go down the front for Jimmy Eat World and Green Day so thats what we did, we were short so we got quite close! But things started to really kick off! I lost my camera! IF YOU FOUND IT CONTACT ME. While we were down the front a mosh pit formed around us, we were in the middle - screaming so if you saw two girls in the middle that was us heehee. Jimmy Eat World were awesome!
I heard the Y.M.C.A being played so I knew the drunk bunny was on! I couldn't see but it was still cool! Then 5 minuetes later everyone started to scream, Green Day had come on! Screaming American Idiot, the crowd went mad. My friend started blacking out, I was dripping with sweat (and water everyone was throwing it around) we had to get out of there, and fast! So we started to head out, I fell over heehee. Katie went to the hill but I stayed; it was Green Days biggest show and I was not about to walk away! So I was left there. They sang some more songs then played Hitchin a Ride! Well that was the best effing song of the night! In the middle Billie Joe started to masturbate and made erm . . . noises to go with it! It was great! For Knowledge as usual they got three lucky members of the audience to go up and play their instruments. I got tired so I went up the hill to They played King for a Day and me and Katie went mad (its our fave song). We started jumping and screaming no one else was up the hill so we looked like right fannys! They were all wearing their funny hats!
At the end of the show there was a really really cool fireworks display! IT REALLY FINISHED THE NIGHT!
