First and foremost we (in we I mean me and my friend insomniac_cow) would like to state that a member on this very site who we know as ‘johnelwis16’
Is a fucking asshole. If you've already read his review on the Fort Worth concert you'll see what we mean. First we'll start out with Sugarcult since they played first.
I’ll be honest I didn't expect them to be that great, but oh how I was wrong. They were awesome, I only knew about two of the songs but I was still having a great time, jumping up and down. Next were New Found Glory, they were alright but to me they weren't Green Day good or anything, but still good. But I'm sure some people who are really into them will disagree. Next was the last 15 minute break.
At the last minutes of the break they started playing Y.M.C.A. on the speakers and this guy in a pink rabbit suit came on with beer in one hand and started shaking his butt and drinking, on the part when you dance and make your arms in the shapes of letters all he did was the Y and a pitiful M and then chugged.
The whole stadium was chanting "CHUG, CHUG, CHUG" it was awesome. Then they played ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’ By the all legendary ‘Ramones’. Right after that, the lights just went off and you see Mike, Tre, and Billie Joe run onto the stage pick up their instruments and started playing American Idiot. It’s kind of hard to remember the set list but I’ll try.
But I know I can't do it in order. And the whole time Billie Joe was being the ultimate crowd pleaser from going side to side singing, playing and shaking his ass. It was so fucking awesome because there were explosions and light effects. Billie Joe got this big water gun and sprayed into the crowd, then he got a big bottle of water and was splashing it on people but then like he was a priest he did the sign of the cross. He also made the crowd chant, like "when I say Jesus, you say CHRIST!" and the whole crowd screamed it back at him then he said "when I say LUCI you say FER!" and then he said "we're all going to hell tonight!" it was so bad ass.
Then he was saying like these “HEY OOOOO!!†It was awesome, sorry if I’m rambling but it’s hard to put everything in words. Then it looked like Billie Joe was masturbating on stage, and he was going “ahhhhâ€, “ohhh†“that's the spot to the leftâ€, it was so funny, and he said "someone’s going to fuck me tonight!", and "who's up for gay sex?". And I couldn't believe it… I got Tré Cool's drumstick signed, it was so awesome cause he tossed it and I was like the first one to see it, I yelled at the guy who worked there at the top of my lungs "dude I’ll do anything for it" and he gave it to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
plus we were so close we could see beads of sweat on Billie Joe’s face, he was wearing (from bottom up) all black high top converse, red and black horizontally striped socks tight black pants, a three row studded belt, a black shirt with red tie exactly like in the American Idiot video. Also Mike was just as close and he kept like flexing his muscles while he was playing. My advice is to buy the tickets when they first come out other wise you'll end up waiting till the last second and it'll be sold out and your only other chance of going is buying a ticket on eBay for $300.
Everyone who said that Green Day aren't punk anymore and that they turned commercial well they can all go fuck themselves cause they're fucking wrong! I lived my dream and it was better than I could ever imagine.
