My name is really Amanda, not Spot. I was born on October 15, 1992 in the Fort Hamilton Hospital. My life was pretty good for a few years until I reached five years old. When I was five my mother was pregnant with my little sister. She was born 6 days after my birthday a still born. Being five and ignorant I didn't know that meant my sister was dead. A year after my sister's 'birth' my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had the cancer for a bout a year and then it went into remission. Everything went along well for about another year's time, but her cancer came back with a vengence. She eventually passed away in late August of 2001, a few months before my 9th birthday. If you think losing a mother is bad, I lost my grandpa a week before she died and then my dog a month later. Everything seemed to be bad, but I was still happy. Soon that changed and I suffered from deep depression. That was until my cousin introduced me to Green Day. Sadly, that was in late 2005 when Bullet In A Bible came out. You guessed it, my first cd was American Idiot, but it was a burnt copy. My first real cd was Insomniac. With out Green Day I would've probably ended it all a long time ago. Now I am 14 and actually, things are pretty normal. I am still pretty obsessed with Green Day and have almost all their CDs. They truly are my saviors. I hope some day I can meet my idols, Green Day.
In case all of you are wondering why my nickname is Spot, I'll tell you. A few years before I was born, my mom bought a cocker spaniel. She had named the dog Audrey. When my mom showed Audrey to my grandpa he flipped out about the name, since Audrey is more of a person's name. My grandpa asked them if they were going to name their first born Spot. I thought it was funny when my dad told me the story so I've insisted on calling myself Spot. It's better than Aman or Panda, so I can't complain.
I recently learned that Audrey had never really liked me. Ever since I was a little kid she would get skittish and bite me. Mainly that was because I found it funny when I pulled on her ears and fur. But hey, I was only a baby. I didn't know any better.
