No, up here it's 16 for the permit and then a bunch of requirements and then when you're 16 and a half you can take the road test... with the state troopers. But a lot of people I know have put off getting their permits and it takes even longer.. it's not just the age, like 16, 16 and half.. it's when you get your permit.. let's say if you got it when you were 17 then you'd have to wait six months while completing the requirements to take the road test... then the six month period of driving on your own.. it's very strict...
Adn the cop I had was so anal and some of my friends on face book are giving me a hard time because I failed. And they don't even have their permits yet either!!! Idiots!
