Yeah, we don't get them frequently... once every 15 or so years...
This latest one was bad. It happened in December..... trees were cracking all night long.... we woke up and found that our lines were torn off the house and tree limbs were destroyed, cracked bad enough that they were left all over the ground... the whole town was like that... wires everywhere.. limbs were blocking roads. The National Guard was here for like a month. School was cancelled for almost a month. We've made up for most of the days missed, though there's a huge debate over whether or not we should have.... since Boston wasn't hit at all, the state officials were very strict about the school district's ruled.. we had to go to school for a few saturdays and complete a three length period of time in which we were in school for an extra hour a day. It sucked. Big time.

Massachusetts. It's so hot here because a lot of our trees that were damaged in the Ice Storm were taken down... There's hardly any shade in our yard.
