Well they were born before he experienced it.
And it's called "Jedhawk" and Tré's is a "fauxhawk".
Tré looks like a bird with his fauxhawk, but Jedward looks like superheroes. :3 The reason they cut it like that was to look cool running and so that the hair wasn't in the face. So they have a reason.
