I'm Falling For Fall Out Boy...
Seriously. As much as I hate to admit it, mainly because Pete Wentz creeps me out, I am starting to like them. They're actually not as bad as a lot of people (aka GSBians) say they are. Even though Pete Wentz is unnatural.
When Sugar We're Goin' Down came out in 2005, I liked it. I had to look up the lyrics because I couldn't understand most of them, but it was a catchy song. It is a catchy song. And I am not ashamed to admit that I like it. *cough* I became morbidly obsessed with it for a week. My enthusiasm for that song has toned down to a normal, healthy level since then.
Now here comes the part I hate. Because it involves deja vu. I freaking hate deja vu. I heard This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race somewhere, but I can't remember where. I remember I thought it might have been some unknown-to-me Audioslavish band. And when they broke into the chorus it sounded more My Chemical Romancey. So I was confused. Only I can't remember where it was I heard it. Probably on the radio or at the mall.
Anyhoo, yesterday, after a stressful few hours listening to my teachers argue with a she-beast (PM me for details) and eating chips for lunch while looking at Green Day pictures with my friend, I came home, utterly exhausted. So I turned on the TV, because I like to escape from reality. I put on VH1, because that's the only decent music channel here that plays English and European music.
MCR was on. I like MCR. So I was waitin' for the next video and I saw Pete Wentz on the TV screen. I had a heart attack and was about to change the channel, but for some weird twist-of-fate reason, I didn't. I kept it there. *gasp*
The little thingy at the bottom of the screen said "Fall Out Boy/This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race". I thought it was an interesting title and I liked the cardboard people so I watched. And this weird bubble-ish sound started. And then Patrick started going "I am an arms dealer..." and I bolted up straight cuz I'd heard that somewhere before. I heard the entire first verse. And the bridge. And the chorus. And I was like O_O OMFG.
I was as smitten with the song this time as I was the first, wherever it was that I'd heard it. Plus, I know I've heard the phrase "painting your trash gold" somewhere and I'm more sure than ever I heard it on Worldspace. And since yesterday, I listened to the song like 234345326564635 times on Youtube.
So there ya have it. I like Fall Out Boy. I LIKE THEM. Especially the drummer. There's something nice about his hair and glasses. *cough* And I continue to maintain that ol' Petey is Devilspawn. But Patrick has this odd vibe in his voice that's...irresistable, even though he needs to encunciate.
Now, I am going to scour Youtube for more of their songs and continue to like them so hardy hardy har.

You should listen to there old stuff from "Evening Out With Your Girlfriend" or the "Project Rocket SPLIT CD" [project rocket is an old band that that andy was in] But its really good. Itry to explain that to people who dont like Fall out boy because of their old stuff.

I like them too!
And you like Andy Hurley...So do I...weird!
But right now I have OCD on all things My Chemical Romance, esp Gerard Way and Frank Iero.
