May 1
May 1 - Labour day.
It is a holiday, but also a day of demonstrations. One of the demonstrators are neo-nazis. Unfortunately, the issue is not history. Nowadays there is still alot of rascism all over the world.
The German party NPD, which is right-winged, always organizes a big demonstration on May 1. The participants - Nazis. The past year this demonstration took place in Leipzig -until the inhabitants chased them away.
This year they demonstrate in my town. On May 1, the people here have to show their intolerance for Nazis - and chase them away, like the people in Leipzig did.
You might think they shouldn't be allowed to demonstrate anyway. But the NPD officially doesn't count themselves as "Nazis". That's why, the law can't do anything. Being a "democratic" party, (or claiming to be), you cannot forbit them to demonstrate. Nevertheless, their supporters are mostly Nazis, and the party's program is more or less racist.
We don't want Nazis in our town, we don't want them in Germany. We don't want them anywhere. Therefore, my university, and the whole town and state organised a demonstration against the NPD. We want as many people as possible to join, so we can block the city, so the Nazis can't get in, can't get through, can't form a group to demonstrate. The whole town organized alot of little stands and things going on in the whole town. This, we hope, will attrack alot of people to block the city.
So there will be no way for Nazis to get through.
We show a RED CARD ("Rote Karte" ) against Intolerance and Rascism.
