The Living End
Date: July 25 @ Warped Tour
Band: The Living End
The Living End has to be one of the best live bands I have seen yet. In the US, they aren't overly popular, but they do have a fairly large fanbase. As you may know, warped tour has several acts going on at the same time. So, you are basically walking between stages all day. You always have the people that intend to be there, but the really good bands distract people who are walking somewhere else. The Living End starded out with a modest crowd of maybe 60 people. There was over 150 people watching them before they were done. They are sensational live.
Music
Amazing. Vocals were freakishly accurate, seriously, I like their sound better live more than on their CD's. Their timing is always in sync, and their overall sound is excellent. They click together well, effortlessly stay on tempo and in beat. Solo's are always done elaborately and with great precision, making them borderline perfect. We want More was there best song live, I think. All of their songs were good, but that one had alot of energy and you could tell they were really into that one.
Visual Aspect
They are just as much fun to watch as they are to listen to. I find Australian accents to be amusing to begin with.so I'd be content watching them stand on boxes, but that's a different subject entirely. Scott plays a double bass, and he does all kinds of stuff with it. He stands on it, twirls on it, holds it over his head, its awesome. Chris uses a beer bottle as a slide, and Andy is always fun to watch on drums.
The show keeps your interest. It was like 90 degrees outside, I was surrounded by hot, sweaty people. In fact while on stage, they said the St.Louis show was one of the most disgusting shows weather wise, alot of bands said that. Even taking all that into consideration, there is no where else I would have rather been than watching them play. I got there wayyy before they evan began playing, so I was right at the front, touching the baracades. I was talking to the security in front of it actually. They have some crazy stories. Anyways,The Living End are a fantastic live band, their shows are not over priced at all, you definitely need to check them out if you get the chance!

LMFAOLMFAOLMFAO. You find Aussie accents funny. tbh I do too. So like, everytime I see them live I giggle at their accents. And they sound just like me o.o
But yeah, I'm the same with English accents. I was like, killing myself laughing (inside my head as to not look insane) when I saw muse live. idk I just love their accents :shifty:
But yeah omfg they're so awesome to watch live, they're just so enthralling and they're random and I love how they just stop to have a conversation on stage, it's fantastic.
Plus Andy totally perves on Chris.

The Living End pwn.
^_^
I really wanna see them live... apparently there's a concert coming up here where entry is free, and some of my other favourite bands like Wolfmother and Eskimo Joe are playing.
WOOT. =]

I was going to see them live but the chick that I was going with was flying somewhere else on the day. Of course they'd play the best in hot weather compared to the other bands, afterall they're aussie.

I hope Stef is right here and they come down to Venezuela to play in the back of a truck, and i'll surely show up.
They mroe I read stories about people who's seen them live, the more I get into them. Certainly The Living End it's the other band I'd travel to another ciuntry just to see them live (if it ws only up to me...!).

Oh man, I saw them at the masquerade. You're right, they are sensational live. I've got some good snaps of Scott. Sad, the closest I've been to the band was when Scott was teasing the crowd and bring his double bass towards us for us to touch but then pulling it away.

And I was quite honored when Chris's spit/beer got all over my camera

I got to meet them too.
They were really nice and laid back. They signed my CD and a sign that says 'Dujo Rocks'. XD

You think that performance was great, try being in Australia.
It seems, compared to America that just a little bit more, they play even harder here.
They're so natural with it, you can tell that they're so happy doing what they're doing.
They all go nuts, and are very well rehearsed. They'd be happy playing on the back of a truck, if at least one fan turned up. They don't take for granted where they are, and that's what i love about them. They keep thinking they aren't on top of the world like others have and still do.
They're great at their work, and i'm sure as hell going to support them through it.
