When Does A Joke Cross The Line?
I didn't feel this fit any category, but felt like it fit 'Life' best
Recently i heard a joke involving the 7/7 bombing victims, and heard people laughing. Now has this crossed the line? I'm not going to post the joke but you will have most likely heard the one involving smarties and the tube, this blog is about that one. Maybe i'm overreacting, but i find this completey insensitive. How would you like it if you lost a family member and then heard someone make a joke about that? I know that it would hurt me, but then again, maybe I'm a little sensitive to this issue.
Now maybe I'm thinking about this too much. Maybe it's just a stupid joke that people too young to understand might tell, but if they don't understand they wouldn't tell others. But if I heard some little kids say it, well, it wouldn't have bothered me like it does when someone my age says it.
I know in times of crisis jokes can restore happiness, but how could a joke so cruel make victims and their families smile? I’m possibly just too nieve to understand.
Thanks For Reading. x

I haven't heard the joke. Could you PM it to me?
Jokes like that piss me off, I getcha. It's the same when people crack 9/11 jokes. I don't call it insensitivity, I call it stupidity because they fail to think about how serious those type of jokes really are. They care, they just don't think. Well, that's my take on it

I know which joke you mean and you're right, it's extremely insensitive and though I haven't lost anyone in that attack I understand how devestating that would be. Try not to get thinking about it too much, it's just the way some people deal with these things I guess. Just ignore them.
