The Killers
Who likes the Killers here? Well, I do. =]
The Killers, an alternative rock band from Las Vegas, formed in 2002.The band consists of four members - Brandon Flowers, David Keuning, Ronnie Vanucci Jnr. and Mark Stoermer.
The Killer's name is gained from a music video by New Order (one of the Killer's major influences), in which the name appeared on the bass drum. Their first gig was at a club in Vegas called 'The Junkyard'.
Their debut album, Hot Fuss, was released in 2004. Their most successful singles included Mr Brightside, Somebody Told Me, and All These Things That I've Done.
In 2006 The Killer's released their second album, Sam's Town. Flowers, lead vocalist of the band, claimed before its release that it was 'one of the best albums in the past twenty years'. Despite this, the album received mixed reactions from critics and fans. Since this release the band has become more mainstream.
As for my opinion?
On hearing Mr Brightside from a friend's iPod on the way to softball on a bus just after its release, I have followed the Killers with interest. I even named my horse Mr Brightside as his competition name.
As for Sam's Town, I really liked it. I preferred the first album though - the second album was turning away from alternative rock more, and the songs had a lot more of a pop rock feel, with much more guitar (which isn't too bad I guess!
)
When Hot Fuss was released, not many people knew the Killers existed. I would mention them, and get confused looks. But now, they're much more well known.
So, what do you all think of the Killers?

The Killers are alright, I was going to buy Hot Fuss when it came out but never got around to it. But I dislike the way they try to get popularity, by putting down other bands.

I like their music but Brandon Flowers needs a huge attitude ajustment., he's insulted Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Green Day itself. He said that he found them anti americanism.

I've heard some stuff off their new album, its a-okay. I LOVE their first album though, every song is on my iPod. I love the band, but my only thing with them is that sometimes Mr. Flowers' vocals are off on live shows, from what I've seen. Love 'em otherwise

I like The Killers.
But I was disappointed with Sam's Town and Brendan's comment about Billie Joe!

They're not bad.
I find it annoying though how most of the people I know only know 'Mr. Brightside' and have no idea who the Killers even are.
*sigh*
