Nude Photography.
I first wasn't sure if it would be something that I could write about on GSB, considering that most of you are still pretty young. But I'll give it a try and if anyone of you feels offended by it please tell me and I'll delete it again immediatly.
The human body is probably the most complex construct on our planet. Full of so much beauty, so much creativity and so much complexity. The way our bodily parts are arranged, the way they are connected and the way they function is just simply amazing. And everyone of us is different. Everyone has a different skin color, hair color, facial shape, a different height, and body shape. Everyone is different in their own beauty.
In our society it is common to cover your body and it's considered inappropriate when you show too much of your body. And yes, I think if you present your body in a naughty way, as it is often presented in porn for example, it takes away all beauty. But Nude Photography is an Art, if it's done in the right way. And it isn't intentionally made to provoke sexuality. It is made to show pure beauty.
And I think it is sad that the naked human body is often only reduced to sexual connections. People have forgotten to see the real beauty of our body. It is not about the size of your breasts, whether you are skinny or not, or if you are "hot", it's about our body as a whole, in all it's individual features.
The human body is beautiful and unique - and yes it is attractive. Nude Photography can be erotic too, but eroticism doesn't neccessarily imply sexuality or sexual actions. It is a part of beauty...and it is art.
Porn, on the contrary, has nothing to do with real arts.
I personally am very interested to try out Nude Photography. I think that you will get a whole new relationship to your own body. You will get to know your body from a total different perspective. I think that is very interesting.

What do you think?
yes, and Salvador Dali has made some beautiful nude paintings.
I think it's great; our art center down here has a nude collection a lot of people are scared to look at. They're paintings of the typical human body, with some fat here and there, totally expressive and real. Not many people have perfect bodies so it's brilliant how they did it

Im glad you wrote this. =] So much is sheltered these days, everything is taken in an explicit manner when it doesn't have to be. Its kind of sad really, pictures like that seem to be a dying art form. And where it does exist, its harshly criticized.

I can see what you're getting at.

I totally understand what you are saying.
And yes, the human body really is beautiful.
@ others. I think that a photograph is better than a painting, I think it captures more. Paintings are too...they're not as crisp. I don't know. Photos just have more feeling in general to me.
Anyway, you make sense. Yes.

I agree with ohmygodshutyourbutt.
A painting is better than a photo.

I think this is an awesome blog. But I think when someone paints a portrait of the naked human, it's so much more beautiful. With photographs, it can be pretty, but people can still exploit you somehow, someway.

the human body is a work of art.
