"Grow Up...Get A Job...Act Your Age..."
Why?
I'm 17, in full-time education and more concerned with getting decent grades and attempting a social life to "grow up" and "get a job". I AM acting my age!
I've heard those three phrases at least 10 times today.
The fact is, I'm a teenager, and I shouldn't have to grow up. People always say their childhood were the best days of their lives...but they're trying to end that for me? Why?
Are they jealous?
Maybe.
Or maybe they want whats best for me.
But whats best for me at the moment is the freedom to enjoy the year i have left before I am forced to grow up.
peace, love and empathy

I've never been told to grow up and get a job.
All the adult people around me want the best for me and want me to continue all the way through to finish university.
And i'm only 14.

You're lucky to be 17.
I'm at the age where people tell me to "grow up" and when I try to people tell me that I'm "still a kid."
