This is what happens at night...
I lie in bed. Closed eyes. A big smile on my face as I am drown in thoughts. I feel good. I feel safe. Content. And sleepy.
No sound.
Only my silent regular breathing.
Suddenly, a sound. A...humming? Buzzing. It's coming closer. Dangerously closer. Annoyingly closer. A mosquito. And it violently pulls me out of my dreams. Out of the my state of feeling safe. Content. Happy. Now I feel annoyed. Grumpy. I turn on the light. Oww, my eyes. Why does light have to be so...light? I ask myself. Weird question to ask in the middle of the night. Too complicated.
I hate that sound. I can't sleep with a mosquito around. I get up. Search the room for the mosquito. Try to kill it. Throw a pillow. Clap my hands. Blood on my hands. Great. Well, I killed it. Now I have my own blood on my hand.
I have about 10 mosquito bites right now. The two on my back are really big. I even have one on my forehead and above my eyebrow. In comparison to the sound at night I rather have some more mosquito bites than getting woken up by a flying mosquito around my head.
That, to me, is the most annoying thing right now. But for now I am content again.
Silence in my room.
Slow breathing.
I'm drifting off to sleep again.
Happiness. Contentment. Safety.
I am safe back in my dreams. Without mosquitos.
No sound.
Only my silent regular breathing.

Ew I hate that. But I haven't experienced it in a while.
When I was on holiday, my legs were filled with bites. I even think I'll end up with a few scars.

Ooh I hate mosquitos, but if I can't be bothered to hunt them down, I just bury myself under the duvet. But yes, that sound they make drives me batty.
