A Day In The Life Of Kate
20th September 2007
6:30 – 8.00
This is my waking up time. I get up, get dressed and ready for school. I figure waking up at 6.30 gives me 55 minutes to sleep longer, 5 minutes to get ready and 30 minutes to relax for a bit downstairs. This is the most boring time of the day, as far as you guys are concerned.
8.00 – 8.30
The time before registration, which starts at 8.25, but we must be there for 8.20. I get in 20 minutes early most of the time to give me and my friends some time to talk and stuff. Registration pretty much sucks, I have no close friends within the form, but I’ll usually talk to someone about something or other.
Period 1: English [8.30 – 9.30]
We’re doing orals, where we talk about something for 10 minutes. Since I did mine last week, I have nothing to do, hence spend the lesson watching people do theirs and asking awkward questions, which our teacher encourages, thinking it will help us learn.
Period 2: PD [9.30-10.30]
As rewards in our school, we get stamps. 3 stamps in one subject is a credit, and we spend an hour counting these. Well actually, only 5 minutes of the time is occupied by this, the other 55 we spend watching ‘Brainiac’. Today, me and Holly though went to visit Mr Caden; our Chemistry teacher. Rather interesting experience, we saw him about 5 times within the lesson, we didn’t need to, just we’ve seen the same episode of Brainiac several times.
Break [10.30 – 10.50]
20 minutes to go wherever we feel, as long as we’re on school property. I mostly’ll go outside, or go hunt down random teachers, either way it’s better than lesson time, but today I was outside, in the rain, with my friends, freezing to death.
Period 3: Maths [10.50-11.50]
GAH! I HATE MATHS! Circle Theorems are not my idea of fun, or anything like that. I don’t mind where I sit, or who I sit with, but it’s not my idea of fun.
Period 4:Biology[11.50-12.50]
Yet again, rather boring, usually I like it, but we were doing text book work, which I hate and in silence too, so you won’t want to hear about that.
Lunch [12.50-1.30]
Same as break, just colder and wetter
Registration [1.30-1.50]
Same as in morning, just longer.
Period 5: Chemistry [1.50-2.50]
We were in an exam and me and my friend were drawing things, in my boredom, I drew a banana phone and as soon as I wrote ring next to it, the prep room phone went out, which was rather hysterical, but it was boring, because of the whole exam thing.
2.50-4.00
Dogs. This time is where I walk and sort my dogs out. They’ve been at home a proportion of the day, so I like to fuss and play and walk them.
4.00-5.00
Homework. Boring and tedious, but it has to be done. Often I’m on GSB at the same time.
5.00-6.00
Cycling [also a GSB multi task] and guitar.
6.00-10.00
My chill and relax time. I’d do more fun guitar stuff, be on GSB, basically have some fun. All work and no play makes me dull.
10.00 +
Sleep and such stuff. I’ll usually pack my bag for the next day and go to bed about 10.30, although some times I’ll be up to about midnight, but not usually; I need sleep to function
***
And that is a typical day for me. Hope you enjoyed it. I do other things as well, but these are the basic things I do and such.
