Comedians.
I absolutely love comedians. I love sitting at home and watching their programs. I've already seen two (German) comedians live: Otto Waalkes and Oliver Pocher. And I've also seen American and international comedians on TV. And I've noticed two groups of comedians, and to me, also two groups of quality.
Let me explain.
1.) On one hand there are the kinds of comedians who talk about everyday things. About what happened to them when they went shopping, about how their wife shops forever, or about things they made up. They make shows or movies about nonsense stuff. And it's really funny. An example for this is Mr. Bean. His jokes are mostly just about him being weird and funny. It's everyday scenes about everyday things.
2.) On the other hand there are those kinds of comedians who's jokes mostly consist of making fun of other people. A typical example for this are late night shows. They make fun about Tony Blair pulling a weird face, about Britney Spears being drunk again, or about Pete Doherty getting another shot of drugs.
Some comedians also mix both.
And if you ask me, the first group, the ones who are funny without making fun of anyone, are the real good and talented comedians. Because I think it is so easy to be funny by making fun of someone else. But it takes real talent and a lot of effort to be able to make up funny situations and to get people to laugh about them.
Don't get me wrong, I listen to and watch both, but I actually enjoy those more who don't make fun of others. Because their jokes last longer and are more intense and can be enjoyed by more people.

Yes, I adore comedy. I prefer British comedy tbh, and yes I agree with you. I don't really fancy vulgar and sort of ignorant humour, I prefer witty, but also crazy stuff that make people laugh. Comedy is the best.

I like comedians that ramble.
And drag out some silly story for a whole set.
And then has a really sudden ending.

for some reason, we were all discussing this in geometry class yesterday with my teacher. we were trying to come up with:
-people who have good jokes that aren't mean and
-people who had kind of hurtful/racist/mean jokes.
this blog explains it pretty good. :D
