Let It Be

I just went to see Across the Universe. A lot of people think it's lame, but I think it's kinda cool. Not many things make me open up my eyes all the way to see what sh*t we're in. The whole movie takes place at the time of the Vietnam war (which my dad fought in by the way). There is,of course, a lot of protests. And several scenes where one of the main characters is fighting in the war. That got me to thinking about all the people who get caught in wars through no fault of their own. Thank god the draft no longer exists. I bought, like many of you, Instant Karma for two reasons mainly. Because some of my favorite bands are on there and to help out with the cause. The video for Working Class Hero scared the living piss out of me. The things that happen to these people, the tremendous amount of fear they live with. And most of America can just sit there and do nothing. I wish I could make people live the way those people do. In absolute fear. I wish I could save all those people. Girls my little sisters age getting raped. Boys her age get sodomized. The human race is f*cked up for several reasons. But the main reason is that we do this. We kill each other for small things. We think there is no other way to solve our issues. We resort to violence, like little kids. We keep inventing more ways to kill more people. The people we kill did nothing. It's not like everyone in Iraq wanted to kill us. It was a small group. But now that we've gone and started a war there, we can't stop. Because when we rest they'll have their revenge. And we'll be too busy fighting with Iran to notice. But we'll be happy and pampered till then and that's all that matters right?
