Christmas? I DON'T THINK SO!
WARNING:BAD SPELLER, PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON POOR SPELLING!
This blog will be a bit of a rant. If you don't wanna hear me complain about society, PLEASE don't read it.
Subject 1:
The entire Christmas season each year really gets to me. So much dam stress.
"We need to put up the lights."
"Will he/she like this present?"
"I've only got 35 more Christmas cards to mail out."
"We're all out of wrapping paper, can you go get some more?".
I only have one responce to the quotes above: SHUT THE FUCK UP! Why does the entire season have to be a rush of chores?
Subject 2:
Why do people start celebrating Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving happens? I can see if you wanna go out Christmas shopping the day AFTER Thanksgiving, but why must you completely forget about one holiday because Christmas is on the way? Save your dam Christmas lights for the day AFTER Thanksgiving.
Subject 3:
Why the hell is it that I cannot watch anything but a Christmas movie or a Christmas special on T.V.?! I wanna watch regular shows dammit! And why doesn't any radio station play normal music during the Christmas season?! I wanna listen to regular music because there hasn't been any new Christmas songs since the 80's. It's the same 40 songs playing 24/7 all through December year after year!
Subject 4:
What the hell is the REAL meaning of Christmas? I'll fill you in: The birth of Jesus Christ. "So wait, wouln't that make Christmas a religous holiday?" NO SHIT SMART ONE! So why is it the biggest fuckin comerical in the history of man? I've no Goddammed clue! Hey Christain people, GET A GRIP ON YOUR HOLIDAY!
Yeah, it's a shitty blog, but yanno, I could care less. No one made you read it. (DO NOT COMMENT SAYING "No one makes you take part in Christmas" BECAUSE I HAVE PARENTS THAT DO!)

i agree with everything you said. but none of those are the reasons i hate christmas. mine is mostly family problems.
MikesCoffeeCup, November 23rd, 2007 at 02:49:04am
i love christmas tbh.
rollerpig, November 20th, 2007 at 07:01:05pm
I completely agree. it's totally lost it's meaning. when I was little I even used to sing happy birthday to jesus on december 25thxD...I still do.and I'm not extremely catholic/christian either hahaha
and plus you have to pretend to be nice to people youcannot stand.
I hate christmas. like wow. it's so much stress, and heartbreaking for the people that cannot afford to buy their children/their families nice things.
and for the kids that don't get anything.
it's just a commercialized holiday now..it's quite sad

My bad people, I guess in my fit of rage (listening to christmas carols, seeing christmas lights and not being able to find anything but Christmas movies on TV caused it) I forgot

Oh joy, being with family. I sure love that......NOT. Sure I like being with my Mom, Dad and my 2 older sisters alot, but thats not how it goes down for my family. Every Christmas Eve/Christmas is the same. On Christmas Eve we go to my uncle's house where i get the livng crap beat outta me by my cousins and get made fun of all night. After that we go to church (OH MY GOD ITS BORING) and we stay there till 1 AM. Then we wake up around 10 or 11 and celebrate Christmas like any family would (the opeaning of gifts, ect.). Then at around 1 PM we go to Grandma's for dinner (its chineese food every year!). I love my Grandma, but her house for 5 hours is kinda boring and she doesnt cook (hence the chinese food). Then I go to my other Uncle's house at about 6 PM and get made fun of and beat on by the same cousins. We go home around 12 or 1. So yea, my entire Christmas sucks.
I soppose its not that bad for most people, but it really puts the iceing on the cake of hate when it comes to Christmas for me.

I get what you're saying, though I love Christmas.
I am one of those who start counting down for Christmas right after my birthday (my birthday is in August).
And I know that Christmas is a religious holiday, and that I'm not very religious.
But I've grown up with Christmas, and it's become more than a religious holiday.
It's like... there's no better time to spend time with your family, and see your mother smile at the crappy drawing you gave her or your dad for that matter.
Y'know, so for me Christmas is more than a religious holiday. It's a feeling and about family and friends and just having a good time ^^,
But I understand what you're syaing though x]

I like Christmas to an extent.
I LOVE wrapping and I love giving presents.
I love the lights and I love the butterflies I get on Christmas Eve,
I used to not like being with family, now I love it.
But it is a bit stressfull.
germma margaret!, November 19th, 2007 at 10:28:02am
I adore Christmas. All those things you complained about -The lights, The giftwrapping. I love the whole thing.
The tedious songs, and the bustling to the shops is all part of the atmosphere.
Sure, maybe it's about the birth of Jesus to Christians, or just religious people. But to people like my family, who don't share an ounce of religion between us, It's about being with each other, having a good time and showing that you really care about each other.
It's about family, and it's about sharing to us. It's about smiling and laughing.
It's about being together and sharing the good times.
I can't remember a single Christmas where someone's complained about the food, or complained about each other.
Christmas to us is all about appreciation for what we have as a family, and how lucky we are.
As far as I can tell, that's not comercial.
waiting_a_long_time, November 19th, 2007 at 10:17:22am
Someone got coal in their stocking! Just kiddin. I agree with you 100%. MY family actually celebrates x-mas way after it actually happens because we can't stand the rush.
MikeIsMine!!!, November 19th, 2007 at 07:27:44am
It's about family. I quite like it.
I don't really notice Christmas songs on the radio. I don't think we really do that in Aus. And of course, Thanksgiving doesn't apply to Australia either.
I just love the whole feel of Christmas. Sure, it's moved past it's religious beginnings. I just find it's more about family now.

*applauds*
You sound like my dad.
He gave the same exact rant every Christmas season as he was up on a latter putting up lights or wrapping presents.
Its so commericalized and not about what it was started for.
