Global Warming
Global Warming. May not seem like a huge dillema now, but we have little time to react to this future danger. Some people are informed and taking action about it, some choose to ignore it. (In my opinion, it's because they're scared.) Stearing clear of what's happening to our planet earth. Americans make up five percent of the world’s population, but contribute nearly 25 percent of the greenhouse gas pollution that causes global warming. "An Inconvenient Truth" is a movie made by Al Gore, which spreads the word about global warming. Soaring gas prices have sent lawmakers scrambling to lessen our dependence on oil. But as Gore shows in his ardent call to arms, quick fixes are no solution to the potentially catastrophic dangers posed by carbon-dioxide emissions. You don't have to be a tree hugger to help out a little for our lovely mother earth. Here are some way's we can contribute:
1. Recycle
2. Save Electricity
3. Bike, Bus, or Walk (Cars are a high percentage to contributing green house gases)
4. Plant Trees (Seriously, the tree's absorb alot of the shitty gases flying around in the air right now!)
5. ENERGY STAR (Many things, like computers, TVs, stereos, and VCRs, have special labels on them. The label says "Energy" and has a picture of a star. Products with the ENERGY STAR® label are made to save energy. Buying products with ENERGY STAR® labels will help protect the environment.)
I wasn't much into helping out the enviroment until I learned more about global warming. We have our lives, and our future kids lives at stake here. So do the right thing, and take action. ALSO, this isn't a political issue either, so whether you want to chop Bush's head off or not, it doesn't matter. This is about YOU, and the world YOU live in.

People stop with this man made global warming crap. Yes its happening because
"ITS THE SUN STUPID"
Warming is happening throughout the solar system. When I last checked there are no SUV's on Mars.
You cannot regulate solar activity. Greenland was named Greenland for a reason. It was Green when the Vikings settled it. They raised crops and livestock on Greenland. Old abandoned mines are being found where glaciers have receeded with tools stacked up in them like people would be coming back to work the next day. Yes we are warming and we will cool again as well. But just stop the man made global warming garbage. Some of the biggest global warming proponents are doing a complete 180 degree turn on this and are now saying.
"ITS THE SUN STUPID"

There's been an complete raise in the numbers of deaths of polar bears, yeah. Their atmosphere they live in is melting away.

Not to mention in around 50 years the Northern Hemisphere could suffer a SECOND ice age.
And it's not like the consequences aren't being dolled out yet. They certainly are, just not to humans as of right now.
Polar bears, for example, are drowning, since their ice is melting.

They've banned certain classrooms from watching "An Inconvienient Truth" because parents don't want their children being "frightened." It's ridiculous.

it's a fact that in the next 50 uyears, the world is going to get to one of it's worst points in history. i suggest you guys all watch the Inconvienient Truth. It's very easy to understand all of the topics because thre are alot of visuals. it's all about global warming and how it's going to affect us in the future.

Finally, someone who agrees.
Everyone I talk to thinks Global Warming is simply a "change in temperature" and will "go away" or is just caused my El Nino. Which is not true.
I completely agree with this Blog. We need to do something about Global Warming and, like Kurtni said, the government isn't going to do squat until they notice that the public is taking interest. Unfortunately the majority of the public is unaware of this danger and/or refuses to believe that it exists.
No large companies want to admit that there is Global Warming, either, they'd lose too much money. Which, of course, seems to be what is most important to them. Whatever happened to 'customer knows best'?

i know someone who jokeingly (sp) thinks that global warming is caused by the heat miser

Yeah I was really happy and impressed when I found out Green Day was helping out in fighting global warming. :)
The Hippy, January 16th, 2007 at 01:47:00pm
It helps it's friggin 104 degrees right now as I'm reading this.
Fashion Zombies!, January 16th, 2007 at 12:54:24am
I'm so glad Green Day's helping with this too. The kids of tomorrow may not have lives if we f*ck it up for them. I agree. We should all help out and pitch in because if we don't do something now, human life as we know it could be destroyed.
