Ten Things I Hate About You.
10 Things I Hate About You is an awesome movie about a girl who is really tough feminist sort of girl who never dates anyone. Her dad tells her little sister that she cannot date until her older sister dates. This really makes her mad since she knows that her sister isn't planning on dating and boys are kind of scared of her. SO this guy that wants to go to prom with the younger sister hires a guy that is also kind of tough and has a lot of bad rumors spread about him to date the older sister. eventually, he convinces her to date him and they fall in love with each other. everything is going fine until she finds out that it was just a bet in the beginning. so he has to prove to her that he really loves her. its a really awesome movie, one of my favorite movies of all time. its also one of Heath Ledger's first movies...and i really adore him =]
ANYWAY, this is the poem that the name of the movie comes from. the girl reads it in her English class. I was trying to think of a blog that i could write about myself, but i could not stop thinking about how this poem says everything i needed to say.
I hate the way you talk to me
And the way you cut your hair
I hate the way you drive my car
I hate it when you stare
I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind
I hate you so much that it makes me sick
It even makes me rhyme
I hate the way you're always right
I hate it when you lie
I hate it when you make me laugh
Even worse when you make me cry
I hate the way you're not around
And the fact that you didn't call
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you
Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.
One thing about movies is the eventually end. usually the characters are happy, in this case the two characters end up dating each other even after all the stuff they went through to get there. i was watching a movie with a bunch of friends tonight, and i made the comment that i wish my life was like a movie. my one friend made the point that our lives are like a movie, and good things do come. in movies, there are still sad parts but they are edited for the movie. like in the one i watched today, Chasing Liberty, mandy moore's character has to go through probably months before she could see the guy she loves. its just cut out cause its a movie. so my friend said i'm at that point, but i'm enduring all the stuff that was left on the cutting room floor in that movie. eventually, i'll be happy again. i just have to wait it out, unfortunately i can't just cut stuff out of my life like the director can cut stuff out of his film. but someday i'll get to that happy point and it won't matter that i had to wait forever for the right thing to happen.
