I may have a Nephew
As most of you know my brother, Caine, past away in 2006. Before he died he was seeing a really nice girl: Tracey. Unfortunately her parents didn't approve of Caine and made her move away to Darwin, even though she was 19 at the time.
Well yesterday she showed up on my doorstep holding a little version of Caine in her arms. I let her inside, she said that Ethan may be my nephew, but he might not be because there was another man at the time she fell pregnant.
Ethan is now 2 years old, I've seen photos of Caine when he was 2 years old and the resemblance is uncanny. They look more like brother than father and son.
Tracey was telling me that she desperately wanted to have a child with Caine, and since her parents were making her leave she wanted to do it as soon as possible.
I asked how she got here without her parents knowing; After Ethan was born they disowned her and for the last 2 years shes been traveling around the country staying with friends and cousins.
Apparently Ethan's been asking the same question for months: "Mummy, where's my daddy?" and Tracey always says "On holiday baby".
She doesn't know who Ethan's father is, whether it's Caine or the other man. If Ethan's father is the other man she said she'll be heartbroken: When she came here yesterday she told me that he was an abusive psychopath.
At the moment she and dad have arranged a DNA test: The doctor is going to take DNA from Ethan and either me, dad or one of my sisters to see if we are in any relation to Ethan.
I hope Ethan is my nephew. Tracey said he's never had a grandpa, aunties, uncles or cousins, even friends. He's a good little kid who deserves a real family.

I hope Ethan's your nephew too.
Kids often times let it get to them if they find out one of their parents was a bad person, a kid so young does deserve a good family.

awww wow, I hope it all turns out good, and even if he might not be your real nephew you can still be his family...always remember that.
