Are You More Retarded Than A Grown Man Or Woman Who Went To College For 4 Years, Has A Well Paid Job And Doesn't Deserve 25,000 Let Alone $1,000,000
So on Wednesday everyone in my school was talking about some new show called Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? It sounded interesting, so I watched it. After it was over I felt like I had wasted my time. The show basically works like this:
1. The contestant, who is an adult chooses a grade level and subject. For example, fourth grade math.
2. The contestant, as well as some fifth graders write the answer down. If the contestant doesn't know the answer, he/she can ask for help from a fifth grader. The contestant, however, only can ask for help for a limited number of times. For every right answer they make, the kids get another cookie to enjoy with their milk, while the contestant gains thousands of dollars for an answer not rightfully theirs.
3. If the contestant has a large amount of money, and no more answers left from the kids, they may choose to end the game, and go home with what they already won.
I hate it! Why don't they give the kids some REAL prize for being smarter than a grownup? At least on kids Jeopardy they get a big scholarship. Why not give something like that?

They have to be paying those kids, it's always the same kids every episode.

They proabably go out and find the stupidest people they can. Because most people know what the Mayflower is. And the kids only get cookies? that's insane.
I was watching a video on youtube earlier today. It was a British news channel trying to dis-proove the myth that most Americans are stupid. So the reporter went around a city and asked a few simple questions. Most were so incredibly wrong it made me sick (almost).
example:
Reporter: How many sides does a triangle have?
Guy: That's a trick question triangles don't have sides!
of course they edited so only the stupid answers made the segment, but still....

I thought it was hilarious, in a way,
I mean: They must really pick THE contestants. Because from the episode I watched, the woman there must have been dumber than pre-op Charlie Gordon.
Although I missed the beginning and end. So I didn't know what the kids won and all.
I agree that sucks.

It's probably rigged, like all game shows. But that's still showing a bad image of cheap child labour.
