Bob: I love that band. Do you like Green Day?
Bill: URRGGHH! GREEN DAY SUCK! I HATE YOU!
Bob:
And after a while, Bill will introduce Bert to the conversation.
Bill: Hey, Bert. Do you like Green Day?
Bert: THEY SUUUCK!
Bill: I KNOW! THEY SUUUCK!

Yeah. Let's just say I'm Bob. I get stuff like that when I say I like Green Day or people see my merchinedise. It's disrespectfull. It hurts your feelings. Especially when it comes from your friends.
But it's not just people again Green Day. It could be any band. Don't people think before they harshly critisise people's intrests? Can't people keep their opinions to themselves sometimes?
Sometimes people need to think before they speak.

Yeah!! Exactly!! No one likes punk anymore!!! They all say 'Why do you listen to those gays? They wear eyeliner!!' and don't think. I'm one of the unpopular on my school,I don't copy other people. They all listen to Lady Gaga,Akon and all those who only do music to be popular and get money. I don't. I think they suck. But I don't tell them. I listen to GD,Tokio Hotel and Eurovision Song Contest artists,so I'm not respected. Every day in schoOl I wanna yell 'I LOVE GREEN DAY AND YOU SHOULDN'T SAY THAT THEY'RE GAY!!!!'. :(

I think people do have the right to say they're opinions, but maybe if they just said it in diffrent ways.
I mean, I get this a lot, I go to a school that's divided into chav's, populars, emo's and un-populars (I'm the un-popular's :D) it's hard to find people that will agree with you but coming out and saying it like 'THEY f*ckING SUCK' or 'THEY'RE FAGS' is wrong. I'd never say that about someone else's opinion.

I've got it for the last 5/6 or so years, i.e. ever since I became a fan. I mean, I dunno how long you've been into them, and it hurt me alot when I first got it too, but after a while you become almost desensitized to it and learn to manage it i.e. throw it back in their face xD whenever anyone sees my shirts/badges and says "pfft, Green Day suck" or "more like Green Gay!" I just laugh and say "oh well, you're missing out on the quality music, not me!" and they try to argue back saying that they're better off without it & I keep saying "nope, missing out!". There's loads of other things you can say, thats just one of them :) I agree with everyone else too, you shouldn't care what they say, they're the dumb ones

like i did.. and i used to get really mad.
but everyone has kinda forgotten Green Day,
but when 21st Century Breakdown comes out..
everyone is going to be blown away.

Idk, people afraid to mix. Afraid of differences. Not everyone in your life is going to like green day, and it will happen with everyone. Sadly, you're going to have to deal with it. They are allowed to state their opinions, it's just that sometimes people will be rude and make you feel like total sh*t for it.
