Beatlemania!
I'm sure many of you are aware that The Beatles edition of Rock Band is coming out tomorrow, well today actually, cause it's after midnight, as well as their remastered albums. For that past week or so, VH1 Classic has had so many different things on television about the Beatles. In this time I've learned so much more about John, Paul, George, and Ringo, and I've come to love and respect them far more than I already had.
The Beatles had an enormous impact on the music of the past 50 years or so, something they never thought would happen. They touched the hearts of millions of people around the world, young and old, bringing us all together with the universal language of music. Last night we had a family barbeque, and after my grandparents were done listening to all their Irish music on the radio, we decided to listen to the Beatles. My almost 60 year old grandma was singing, after all, the Beatles were big around the time when she was growing up, and my 5 year old brother were singing, and so was everyone in between. That's what great about the Beatles, people of all ages can listen to their music. Today I was babysitting my two cousins, she's 3. I had one of the television programs on about the Beatles and my cousin goes around saying "I love Ringo! Ringo bingo!"
But anyway, I have a deep appreciation for the Fab 4, and I would like to thank them for all of their music, and their impact on all aspects of the world: music, culture, politics, etc. Rock and roll wouldn't be what it is today without them, being that they've influenced so many bands after them, and its sad that only two of them are still here today to see what The Beatles have become.
