Oprah Winfrey:Building A Dream
Today in Spanish, for some reason or another, we watched the Oprah Building a Dream special.
It made me feel bad. We have so much, and we take so much for granted. Those girls, some of them do not have mothers or fathers,or have witnessed their parents dying, and they stil have so much strong faith.
They want to learn and they want to go to school and are so happy.
Oprah is number one in my book. I want to help the less fortunate so much more than I already do. Watching this special was heartbreaking,I was teary-eyed. My eyes have really been open. So when I decide to hate my mom for a day because I couldn't do this or that, I'll think of these girls. They are totattly inspiring. You should think about this also. I'm not forcing you,but it's something to really think about, and then think about yourself.

Well,Jack,I watched something that really made me think.
If you don't like it,lump it.

I'm not a big fan or anything, but she has helped people.

We watched that in religion class last week!
She is one of the most giving women in America, possibly even the world. But, yeah, I almost cried when I watched that. Because those girls were so determined, even though they lost their families and pretty much everything they owned! Everyone should watch that. We could learn a bit about giving back to the world, but also learn how other people cope with things much more difficult than what we have to, and that we are actually quite blessed in comparison. Those girls have so much heart. Truly admirable, they WILL re-build South Africa.
And mad props to Oprah for giving them that stepping stone.

In that case, there are better examples than Oprah.

This isn't focused on Oprah. It's focused on the girls who get the oppurtunity to be someone and change the world.

I hate Oprah. She may help people, but it's only for her own commercial benefit. She made more money in her tour to Africa than she put into it originally. She just flaunts her money. But charity is charity, no matter what reasons you do it for.

To be honest, I HATE Oprah. o_o What she's doing is really special. But when I hate her is on her talk show...she's so stupid! Like with the A Million Little Pieces things (great book by the way) she made it seem like the whole damn book was fake. And the truth really? It was he changed the names of some of the charecters and changed away Lilly commited suicide. And Oprah whines, "You changed it to make it more dramatic." Are you kidding me? All suicide is dramatic. K, Sorry.
