American Idiot. Act 1, Scene 4

George and Jos
ACT ONE, SCENE FOUR

(Curtain rises on a corporate office room with two desks. A man about 25-30 sits at the desk on the right, this is George W. Underbelly. A guy, roughly about 18 years old, with blond hair enters the room. This is Jos)
Jos: Hello Sir
(George looks up and stands to greet him)
Ge: Well hello there, you must be my new assistant.
(Ge extends hand)
Ge: I’m George W. Underbelly
Jos: Yes sir, and hello sir
(Jos and George shake hands)
Ge: Enough with the Sir, call me George,
(Walking back towards hi desk)
Ge: What was your name again?
Jos: Ummm… (Uncomfortably) my parents were the founders of Suburbia, and since I was their only son they named me, well, umm…Jesus of Suburbia.
(Jos looks down ashamed)
Ge: Err interesting name…
Jos: I prefer to go by Jos
Ge: Ah ok then
(Enter Cop 1 and 2)
Cop 1: He did it again George
Ge: Who? St.Jimmy? What’s the damage this time?
Cop 2: One girl dead, we were aiming for him but she got in the way.
Ge: -sigh- Ok thanks boys
(Cops 1 and 2 exit)
Jos: Who’s St.Jimmy?
Ge: A murderous thief. This is the third girl to die because of him. The worst part is we don’t even know what he looks like!
Jos: You should just get someone to go undercover
Ge: (Amazed)
Jos: What?!
Ge: That’s it! Jos that’s your first assignment!
(Smugly)
Ge: Go home and put on some jeans, a ratty T-shirt and anything else that looks grungy and head down to the corner of Shame Street and Christy Road, here’s a map.
(Gives Jos a map)
Ge: Now go, and good luck!
(Pushes Jos out of the office. Curtains close)
