To Current Blog Users
This section has had a lot of spam lately. I'm going through and deleting and banning spamming users from the blogs. Typically, you simply message an administrator to get unbanned. However, as many of you know, we're not on GSB very frequently- so you can expect to remain banned from blogs for a very long time.
Most users still using the site have been users for quite sometime- you know the rules, please respect them and all the other users who want to enjoy blogs.
Additionally, if any of you need to immediately contact a staff member, I would suggest contacting me on Mibba or facebook.

I'm sorry to say, but I do think a couple of new mods are in order.
No offence, but if you don't come on the site very often, how are you to know what's really going on here? I can't imagine you'd have enough time on your hands each time you do come on here to trawl through all the blah blahs and blogs to really get the full picture.
i saw on your profile page a user has commented about how her blog has either been banned / questioned due to lack of capitals?
Again like yourself, don't rly have all the time in the world to go find said log and compare it to the rest, this is my first time online in 3 months. But I do think the grammar police is out in force a tiny bit TOO much, if that user's blogs are being banned due to capitals use / lack thereoff.
Another point, one I've raised before on the message boards, banning users left and right is not the answer. You have to have some type of warning system in place. Otherwise what you end up with is GSB today, a very small user base, due to the fact you've banned half of them and annoyed the majority of the remaining users by doing so, to the extent they've stopped using the site.
Yes some are fake, well done for working out IPs (btw what do you do when siblings use GSB?), but a few have been banned for the wrong reasons, who now have no intentions off coming back, but back in the day they used to add to the discussions on this site. This made GSB an entertaining place to interact on and learn new facts from, which kept current users on the site and drew in even more of the unregistered guests.
Yes I'm all for deleting spam, but as with anyone in charge of power, it ought to be your DUTY to inform users why they are banned, and for lesser "crimes" give them a warning before banning them.
"However, as many of you know, we're not on GSB very frequently- so you can expect to remain banned from blogs for a very long time."
^ Reading that aggravted me I'm afraid to say, you have been given the PRIVILAGE of being incharge of a site, respect it. If you haven't time for it due to other commitments, then no one minds, provided you set up some other method of regulating GSB - aka current users who are active.
It's not fair to ban some users who've made a geniune mistake and would never do it again, then not come online for long periods of time and expect them to wait til you do. For some people the blogs are the only way to express thier emotions exprienced in real life with people who are not complete strangers.
Just because you've ougrown GSB doesn't mean other users have / new users aren't beginning to depend on GSB as an emotional outlet.
P.S: it's not acceptable to say that they can contact you via Mibba or Facebook, some people do not have membership to those sites, for whatever reason, and they shouldn't have to create an account just to get access o you to be allowed to return to this site.
If you want GSB to be what it once was, you have to put in the time and effort / hand over the duty to someone else.
Please do not take any offense to my comment.

yeah I also vote just to have a mod who's on here all the time
just someone who can clean the blogs up and stuff
and watch what people are saying to other people
I think that would be an awesome idea
cause none of the mods are around anymore ]: which makes me sad

I'm for the one or two mod idea, I know there's not a lot of us, but maybe if we had some one who was on more often to keep stuff on the up and up we would have more active users.

It's not very small. By my off the top of my head count theres at least 30+ of us, not really counting our once a monthers and there probably would be more if we weren't spammed every five minutes...its not a lot of effort for anyone who's already here. But yeah, its Dujos choice and thank you for getting rid of some of the spam blogs.

Thanks for the help!
Hopefully you guys can give the power to someone who still comes around....I like the one per timezone idea, it'd be nice. And it wouldn't really be doing much, the active users are nearly religiously active anyway.
Also, you missed a few legitimate spam blogs.

I think we should all vote for two new mods, from different time zones, who can police this place.

Okay, I hadn't noticed those blogs, sorry.
However, I agree with what the others said: we need new mods. Hell, even one new mod would be enough. Most of the people who still come on here are regular users who log in every day, whereas the old mods are just gone. But that's just an opinion, if Dujo doesn't want to add new mods it's probably for the best.

Actually, I deleted five blogs by normal users who just disregarded the rules, and we do more than just ban people who spam advertisements.
I don't personally see the point in adding staff to a site with a very small base of active users, but I know the idea has been brought up to Dujo so maybe that's an option.

Users spamming the blogs are just spambots, not actual people, I doubt they care about being banned from this section for a long time.

Wouldn't it just be easier to get mods that are actually here?

!!
The way it is now GSB is turning into a spam site.
