Drunk Driving
So, recently there's been some things popping up with some GSBians losing some family from drunk drivers. I talk to both of those people, and it hurts me to see needless deaths. So, I'm taking a break from my Survival Guide series and I want to write a completely relevant note to all of your lives.
Look, so it's no surprise that there's some people on here who drink. Legally or not, everyone's bound to try alcohol at some point. So, when the time comes for you to get home, and you know you've been drinking, are you really willing to take that risk? Sure, you'll think, "Oh, my house isn't too far from here," or "What's the worst that can happen?" Well, the answers are simple. The worst that can happen is your own death or someone else's, and it can happen in a split second. At any time.
Losing people in car crashes is awful. I lost my favorite cousin when I was eight to a car crash, and I was completely devastated. I never had the chance to tell him goodbye or I love you one last time, there were so many more things I wanted to say. But his death was an accident. Imagine how much more worse it is, to lose someone so close to you, and it could be so preventable? Think. That could be your mom, dad, brother, or sister instead of some random person who was killed in a drunk driving accident. Are you still willing to take that risk?
Then, there's the issue of parents finding out, considering you're underage. Well, what's more important? Someone else's life, or possibly a few days of being grounded? Your parents might even respect you for having the courage to admit your wrongdoing and to call for a ride instead of driving yourself. You have to put things into perspective. You're saving others and yourself.
So, I hope this message is loud and clear. So many deaths are preventable in the world, and these are among the easiest.

I'm a little glad I'm underage, because when I find something I like, I'll REALLY overdo it, and, um, with alcohol that could be potentially dangerous. And yeah, you're right, that really could be dangerous. Then again, I've never been drunk, which is good.

Drunk driving is possibly the most idiotic thing you could do. Not only could you hurt yourself (which in all honesty, you deserve it) but you could hurt innocent people, you could kill innocent people. I see on here alot of times people talk about how cool Billie Joe is for getting a D.U.I. and how they're all going to get drunk and go out driving like the song says and I can't stand that. People dying isn't something to glorify or joke about. Good blog.

My brother was hit by a drunk driver full on at like 60 mph. And there weren't even skid marks to show she tried to stop. Alcohol makes people into complete idiots.

I agree. Accidents happen because of drunk driving. A lot of deaths can be prevented.

You see the thing is I dont drive I drink but dont drive and I talk to ppl that do both and each told themselves Im never gonna drive drunk in the end they do it.
Why?
Because we live in society so worried about stereotypes that the message is: you are cool enough drink and drive who cares
And this arent direct messages its suggestion the way this dude is always drinking and then goes to his car and drives like F1 well thats a f*cking message man. This society supports young ppl taking risks, the tv, internet etc, their message its who doesnt risk doesnt wins
But you CANT win a human life and you CAN loose it

I totally agree with you. People need to realize that drinking and driving do not mix. I know two people that have been killed due to drunk drivers. The sad part is, both of those deaths were preventable.

Here here.
My parents once got hit by a drunk driver- luckily they didn't get injured and no one died.
For everyone who has lost someone in a drunk driving accident, you have my deepest sympathies.
In fact, anyone who has lost someone, I feel for you.
