The GSB Fakes Surivival Guide
This is a pretty controversial subject on GSB. We've busted quite a few posers on here, and then people are in an outrage over it. So, this guide is for all GSBians out there, that people on here might realize that this is the INTERNET we're talking about.
For the Falsely Accused
If some people have some "proof" of you being a fake, for whatever reason, there's a few do's and don't's.
- Make a Blog or Blah Blah simply stating your case.
- DO NOT PRESS THE MATTER. Simply ignore all other accusations and move on. Or say something along the lines of, "I already told you who I am. If you don't believe me, that's your business."
- GIVE VALID REASONS for not being a fake. Don't be like, "omg i'm not a fake y won't u beleive meee?" You need to sound professional and mature about it, be the bigger person and, like I said, just move on.
The Rest of You Weirdos....
As for the remainder of the GSB population, well, here's a few things I'd like to say.
1. You can't trust ANYONE on the Internet. Even if this person is your best friend, you really can't trust anyone unless you've met them outside of GSB.
2. People are sickos. This goes hand in hand with my first point. Your best friend on here could be some 30-year-old pedophile who lives with his mom. You really can't give anyone the benefit of the doubt. They can SOUND so straight up and all, but people are good at lying. It's easy to lie on the Internet. People are not who they seem.
Therefore....
1. It's ridiculous to start a whole scandal against someone who you THINK is fake. Sure, you can check the properties of their photos and all that, and you might find a link. But if you're going to accuse that one person, why not accuse all of GSB? Because their situation could or could not be a coincidence. Like I said, ANYONE could be a fake or a double on here, and if you're gonna try to find out this one person, well... that's a little stupid, because technically it could be anyone else too.
2. Just because someone posts pictures of themselves doesn't make them real. Just because someone has good grammar and sounds so "real" doesn't make them real, either. Nothing separates me from anyone else on here who you could suspect, in all honesty. So you really can't put too much trust in anyone on here. THEREFORE, whenever you lash out and say things like, "OMFG HOW CAN THIS PERSON BE A FAKE???" Well, it could happen to any of us, finding that out about our best friend. That person just happened to be caught.
What I'm trying to say, is that you just can't put all of your trust into a person on the internet. You can't even put all of your trust into someone in real life, to be honest. A lot of people who come on sites like this want to be known, to be accepted. So, some people can make up who they are and create a new person. It sounds fun, doesn't it? Being the cool one for once, being the one everyone likes and understands. That's a lot of people's reasoning on here, I bet. It's either that or they're just weirdos. So that's my philosophy on the whole Fake thing that comes around every now and then.

i would just like to say that i LOVE your survival guides! Theres great. Umm, i think your correct, although sometimes you kind of know who is not a fake and who is. Stef, i know she isnt fake because weve done web cam, and ive sent her heaps of letters. And she is always there to talk to me. Umm, a few others are not fakes too. Miss Murder, i met her at the Black Parade March. lol.
i yelled out "Is anyone from GSB????"
and miss murder turns around (she was right behind me) and says "im from GSB"
then i asked her who she was and she told me, and then i realised i had been talking to her for a couple of months. lol.

True. I'm glad to see someone say it.
I also think that having such close personal friends on GSB or over the internet is a bit ridiculous, as well. I mean, you don't want to get too attached to a person online, because like you said, anyone could be fake. Sure, it's nice to be able to talk to the people and stuff, but do you really want to invest your time and interests into an online friendship? There's a real world outside of here, with real people, and our time spent on friendship would be better off with them.
It sounds harsh, but... don't you just need a real person sometimes? A REAL hug? Having the ability to know that you can actually hang out with someone?
I like GSB, I like some of the people on it... but when it comes down to it, I don't actually know anyone here, and if someone were to insult me, I honestly wouldn't give a damn, because that person doesn't really know me to be able to judge. In the end, it's just a person over the internet and it's completely trivial. I have a life off of GSB, off of the computer, and I'd choose it over a computer any day.
