Souls

I was reading the spirit topic and kind of wanted to add this there, but it didn't really fit, so I decided to make a new topic.

Everyone believes that you have a soul, I hope...or how would you be alive? What kinds of views on souls do you have?

I, personally, am therian. For those of you who don't know, it means that I believe that my soul is in part or in whole that of a non-human animal. I have a lot of friends that belive this. Some are cats or tigers or ravens or wolves.
There are things called "phantom-shifts" which means that sometimes I feel like I have the ears or tail or paws or muzzle of my phenotype (wereside/soul/etc.). There are mental shifts where the human mindset changes to that of the pheno. The person may act like their soul animal. There are some other shifts, too. Astral shifting is shifting on the astral plane and dream-shifting is well...shifting in a dream. (By shifting I mean changing into the animal.)
KEEP IN MIND THAT WE DO NOT CHANGE PHYSICALLY INTO THE FORM OF OUR ANIMAL. I believe that no one can do that, as it would take a lot of energy to change the proteins in our bodies. There are other reasons, too, that's just a major one.
Some people have multiple phenotypes and are called "polyweres". I used to believe I was part wolf and part white tiger.
Some people believe that their animal is a dragon or unicorn or other mythical creature. There's no evidence to prove that these creatures do not exist in other dimensions or on other astral planes. Usually, these people are referred to as "otherkin".
There are also furries, which are usually found expressing themselves through wearing fursuits or drawings. Some furries are spiritually inclined, but most are not.
People discover their sides through meditation, dreams, and other forms of spirit-searching.

There are also things called totems or spirit guides which are animal spirits that may guide someone through hard times. I have a white tiger totem that protects and comforts me.

My phenotype is unknown at the moment. For about 2 years, I thought myself a white tiger/artic wolf polywere. Now I know I'm not one. I thought I was a hyena/siamese cat polywere and then a goat. Now I've learned of Spirit shifters. Their soul gets tired of being what it is, and changes into different animals frequently. I think that might be me.

Please don't judge me just from this, this is my personal view and opinion. I'd love to hear what you guys all think about it and what your views are on souls. Thanks!

i think a soul is a very important part of someone...its like your ghost...

i don't believe in souls at all. Yet its impossible to prove that they do or dont exist, which makes these things good discussions.

i dont see how a soul could be in the form of an animal, i thought if there were souls it would be far more abstract and that a soul would not take the form of anything. Also, how can anybody know what their animal would be? personally i dont think this theory is very strong.

u just don't start doin stuff with just ur brain and organs...u need a self, a soul...i believe in souls...thats because dead souls , i mean, souls without a body r called ghosts or spirits,. u should read a book, i don't remember the title, but it was quite facinateing...believe me

I believe in souls, but not really in the animal apart...as i124q said, I think that souls are more abstract than that and don't take a paticular form. That theory is interesting, but I don't agree with it.

I believe that people have souls, but I'm not sure what they turn into or anything like that. A soul kinda is like your ghost, I think that maybe when you die, if you become a ghost then that's your soul still existing. I think that souls last forever even though bodies don't.

i believe in ghosts.. thats it..

I believe that we all have souls, and when you die your soul will leave your body and go to Heaven or Hell if you're very naughty...

yea,,, i do i believe in souls, i think if ppl don't hv souls , they can't walk or eat or sleep,,,cuz i think all behavior or actions of human are controlled by souls,,

yeah, or it could be controlled by our brain and our emotions controlled by hormones and things like that. Seems much more plausible to me.

i belive a soul is like your personality.it makes you who you are and different from others.i also belive it's a apart of us that keeps us alive.

Your soul is BASICALLY your identity. Without it your just an empty and emotionless shell. No perkiness, no seriousness, no intelligence, no rebellious spark, NO personality at all!

Jeez I couldn't imagine my soul in a different body... -shudders- That would be effin creepy... I can't even imagine one of the popular girls at my school having my punked out personality... let alone I can't see MYSELF with their... er... gossip...y... personality.

i've always been afraid of waking up one morning in someone else's body. scary.

well sorry for changing the topic guys but i have a teacher well a nun that forces us to belive that animals do not have souls. i was really angry because i believe that we should respect other beliefs in life and in religion but she was forcing us like she is some god... ohh there i got it out...

i belive in souls, and i believe that's how one finds another in their next life. ur soul can have mulitple soul mates, and in each life they play a different roll (best friend, spouse, parent, sibling) this i believe explains y some people have some of these rolls absent in their lives.

okay, i just got to say this, but how can something (like a cat for instance) give love and affection and feel pain not have a soul? i think that nun is a little far in her beliefs
