I thought about this a few days ago; What about 200 years ago? Where teenagers with normal lives were pretty much adults and had to get married and get kids? We're thinking about the wealthy countries here.
Then a good while ago, the "child"-age was higher. Now its getting lower again, im guessing. Without the marriages and responsibility, but with technology and easily accessable birth controls.
Not all teenagers are the stereotype. Not all teenagers drink every weekend, not every teenager flirts with all the boys and have sex with them.
Its like we expect all teenagers to drink alot, have sex and be wild. But when they are, we frown upon it and call them sluts and bitches.

One shouldn't do that. If you're not a teenager now, you'll never be. Some people don't realise that and take 'teenaging' for granted.

As for the main point, I think that girls are extremely pressured by the media/society/WHATEVER, to essentially be perfect. I mean, we're expected to have flawless appearances and spunky personalities in order to be accepted by others. I mean, there was a study on the News, and people were more inclined to help people who were more attractive compared to "average people." I find that pretty... yeah...

Still, some of the things I"ve heard at school has made me SICK. I quote two girls who sit at my art table...

"And I can't stand this one girl. I don't think she's ever had a boyfriend, she's never had her first kiss -"

I'm in my Freshman year. Sure, I've had two-sided crushes, but the guy or myself never confessed about it. SO, I've never actually had a boyfriend, nor gone on a date. This past week I tried just the TINIEST bit of makeup, and that's because my mom partly got me into it, and I thought it wasn't too bad.

Am I society's fuck up, then? I'm not necessarily pretty. I'm muscular, so I don't have that slender look, really. I don't wear the latest trends, I don't even like to go clothes shopping. Parly because three-fourths of shirts out there expose ourselves SOMEHOW. Plus, most shirts out are uncomfortable, and I would never put "beauty over pain," that's ridiculous in my opinion. Is outer image so highly regarded nowadays? I guess you can't get around it. And I could really care less about what I'm wearing, so long as I'm not naked or uncomfortable, you know?

If you look all scruffy, it'll look like you woke up late and that you're like "whatev." and a different kind of people will say "hi." Or you'll just get a lecture for looking a mess. So yeah. When you know you look a mess, you don't feel all that great.

I think girls are trying to learn that with the clothing available. Models and teenagers with good bodies always walk around wearing the latest trends and some wear really revealing outfits and they look confident and well presented. The little kiddies think that's how you look good and well presented. So they look slightly slutty for their age. They learn.

As for sexual activities, I'm fifteen. I'm almost finished with the tenth grade. I've never been on a date. I've had one mutual crush, but nothing could be done about it. I haven't had my first kiss. I'm not even allowed to date. I probably won't be until college. Does that make me not a girl? Am I less of a female? Don't think so.

One thing I hate though, is that there are uh...plump...girls like me but unlike me, they try and pull off low rise jeans and low cut shirts and show off their midriffs and it's just disgusting. I hope little girls learn from that. Fat people don't look good in skin.

i mean today im just in boardshorts and a old green day hoodie
which i havnt worn for years i have no make up on and i feel a sham
but im just having one of those what i call fat days where i can be
botherd to be pretty im not going anywhere so why sohuld i bother

as for dates
well iv had about 3 bf one lasted for 5 weeks the others
were around 3 days
and now i feel a bit sluty for how much i did with him
but i wasnt aware of what he was like
and i guess i tried to get ahead of myself
hes the same age as me i thought it was normal
and to some people it is but now i just feel quite slutty
for getting ahead of myself i didnt sleep with him
and probley so many girls younger than me have slept
with every guy on there street
