I think sueing a tobacco company is like sueing KFC or Mcdonalds either way you are putting posion in your body.

You are taking your own risk..its your lungs your choice to buy em

You know you can quit some people just dont choose to.

but i think its wrong that people just stand outside of Wal-Mart smoking like they are the only ones out there.

But my dad, even though he was away in boarding school most of the time, he still got asthma from second hand smoke.

How do you know smoking caused asthma? Because i have very severe asthma and ive read all about it etc and cigarette smoking cant cause you to get athma but it can be a trigger for asthma attacks.

I dont know what i think about smokig at the moment. It makes me asthma worse, but alot of my frieinds smoke, my dad smokes and my step dad smokes. Getting smoking banned completely would be unethical because the government gets so much tax of cigarette sales & it ultimately comes to down to the individuals choice and ant-smokers shouldnt have any right to make smokers quit.
You don't just get asthma from nothing. You have some repritory problems of weak lung capacity or other problems. My dad was perfectly healthy and his health deteriorated. Now he has asthma.
then it wasn't a direct cause, he must have had weak lungs to begin with

if he went to a boarding school being around smoke during the holidays wouldn't affect him
my mom lived with some one who smoked eight packs a day for nineteen years....she's absolutely fine, so someone with a perfectly good set of lungs wouldn't be affected by holidays with smoking
Well I don't really care much except for what I know which is that my grandmother started smoking at 14, my father was born, devoled weak lungs, married my mother, my sister was born, she is developing asthma, as well.

i can't stand it. It stinks, literally.

1: you get cancer
2: it's poison
3: it's practically self-harm
4: your just killing yourself quicker
5: you smell
6: sticky tar builds up in the back of your throat and blocks your windpipe.
7: you get heart attacks
8: it kills thousands upon thousands of skin and brain cells
9: If you start smoking in your teens, you have 10-20 a day, your more likely to be dead before 70.
10: it has 69 cancer causing chemicals
11: it's just a slow suicide.
12: your inside a room full of smoke, your coughing like crazy. Thats how your lungs feel when your smoking.
13: it makes you ill and tired.
14: your children are likely to have athsma/weak lungs/weak heart.
15: hmm... i wonder how much money you spend each year?
16: you sit and watch the warnings on TV with a cigarette in your hand. Not giving a shit. But you'll regret it if you develop some kind of smoking disease which cannot be cured.

1. No shit, it says that on the box
2. Yeah, that's the whole thing that causes cancer
3. As if two wasn't enough of a carbon copy of one...three's a carbon copy of both
4. Yeah, that's why cancer is considered bad, because it's a poison, and when you inflict it upon yourself, it's called "self-harm" as described by points one, two, and three
5. I don't like the taste, but I must admit I love the smell. This is an opinion thing, if you don't want to smell like cigarrette smoke, don't smoke cigarrettes.
6. That's not where the tar actually develops, but you still don't want it in your body.
7. Again, that's what one through four was about, it's bad for your health. Then again, doesn't everything give you cancer and put you at risk of heart attack? There are more overweight Americans than smoking Americans, and that's much worse. Hell, Japan and most of Asia have the highest smoking rate, but the highest life expectancy, so it's not just one factor there.
8. One drop of liquor kills hundreds of thousands.
9. If you live in the ghetto you're likely to be dead before fifty, you think that half a trillion (500,000,000,000) dollars we spent on anti-drug/smoking propaganda since the eighties could have been used for something different?
10. Carbon copy of half these point. You know what else causes cancer? That special suntan lotion used to prevent skin cancer. It blocks vitamens from the sun that is used to help build your body strong against cancer.
11. Yes, I believe you've said that once or twice.
12. Yeah, lungs also feel bad when you don't excercise and eat bad food. Then you want to be a fatass and blame smokers for your poor health.
13. Yeah, I believe you've touched on that.
14. My mom lived with a man who smoked eight packs a day. You know what killed him? Vietnam. She has healthier lungs than most people I know.
15. I wonder how much money you've spent in taxes getting propaganda shoved down your throat since the eighties. No I don't, I know it's half a trillion dollars ($500,000,000,000). Oh yeah, and according to a ten million dollar study Congress found out that the propaganda is the number one cause of kids starting drugs and smoking
16. Yeah, they've done a lot. We (unrightfully) took smoking ads off the television and smoking company's best advertisement is anti-smoking stuff

I actually agree, everyone knows why it's bad but because of the noticable propaganda, we rebel against it. I wouldn't be so hard on you if it weren't for ,"feel free to prove me wrong" and that little emoticon

all in all, treat everyone fairly, and propaganda was bad in 40s Germany, it's bad in recent America.

Oh my god. I couldn't imagine giving up Green Day.I'm an addict, but ofcourse i already knew that-have been since i first bought Dookie. And now i have full blown O.C.G.D.D. My family doesn't think its "healthy" and they continually tell me that I should stop listening to them, but I can't.Its impossible. My mom even Took away my CD's but I have two back up(Nimrod and American Idiot) because If i don't listen to Green Day atleast once a day, I start getting withdrawls, and they are BAD. I start getting dizzy, i get headaches, feel nauseous. I'm a Green Day Junkie Mr. Green
I'm a Green Day listener for Life.

people who refuse to give up smoking after having a heart attack/stroke and other fatal illnesses after being told by a dr to stop smoking or die, are a drain on the government and they should not be allowed anouther heart operation, i have said this to my step dad who has had an heart atttack and he agrees with me, there are more people put there who need the help of the medical services.

everybody with a brain knows smoking is bad for you.
however most people don't give a shit about looking after themselves and those around them.

I couldn't do it because I have asthma.
Well.. I'm sure I could but it'd be just plain stupid.

I can't understand people who smoke just to prove the others "in the gang" that they can.they think that's oh so cool, then they become addicted, and when they want to stop it's too late.

But You Can Stop If You Tried, Thats The Thing.

All my Friends Are Smokers, And At One Point, I Started To Smoke Too, Not Cause I Was Trying To Be Cool (Cause I Wasn't....I Don't Like When People Say That) It Was Cause I Was "Pressured" Into It...And Smoking Cigerettes Turned Into Other Things...Like Smoking Weed.

I Started Smoking Cigerettes In October Of Last Year.....And I Quit 5 Weeks Ago.....Its Not "Addicting" ......I Think Its All In Your Head Really.....

I've Also Heard That Smoking A Bowl Of Weed Is Like Smoking 6 Cigerettes And Smoking A Cigar Is Like Smoking 5 Cigerettes All At Once. Just Something I Heard...Not Sure If Its True Or Not Wink

I've been smoking for about 3 years now. I've been thinking about quitting, but there are a lot worst things I could be doing ; My life has been really stressful lately so its not the best time to quit. I think if you're going to smoke just be really for consequences.

I hate smoking, I grew up around and I can say that it fucks up your life. I still cough alot to this day and whenever someone smokes around me I freak. I respect the fact that people smoke, it's your choice but try to be cautious of the people around you. I'm really falling in love with the Truth commercials shot live in New York, they make really good points about tobacco and smoking.

I think smoking is a personal choice, and if someone makes that choice, they should deal with the consequences.

And respect people who don't smoke by not smoking aorund them.

That's kind of a hard thing to do when there's like 83736736271829828373674647383837873 people in the world and you're a heavy smoker.
I know I don't do that though, whenever I smoke, it's in my room.

to a certain point i agree with you, smoking can lower stress levels and help you cope, but only in a addiction way.

My dad and a lot of his family smokes. So I'm used to it by now. I don't really have a problem with it. It's his choice, he's been smoking for over 40 years I don't think I'd ben any help now.
