To know if you like lung cancer or not?Do decide if you like doing things that you KNOW are harmful to your health? To decide if you want to form a bad, difficultly broken habit? You really don't need to smoke to decide that... Mr. Green

I don't pay much mind to smokers... but then I'm not one who's constantly worried about the state of my health. So long as smokers are considerate towards those who don't wish to be around it, I don't hold anything against them, even if they ARE pouring foul poisons into their lungs. Because it's a personal choice. .

I started at 14 ><

If I knew then what I know now, I never would have started. I go hungry just to have enough money for a packet of cigarettes. It's terrible.
My grandmother started smoking at that age. My dad, sister, and I are all affected with asthma, ranging from very serious in my dad's case, to my acute asthma. I hope you realise what that does to your relatives.

My parents both smoke, and I do spend rather a lot of time in smokey places. I'm so used to the smell of cig smoke, I can barely smell it on people sometimes.
But I don't have asthma.
Yeah, same here. My parents, my grandma, the people around me...They all smoke. I don't have problems with difficult breathing, asthma or other problems with my lungs.
My dad was born into the smoke. I mean, if she didn't smoke, my dad would otherwise be fine with an untriggered lung condition or whatever it was. Most people are born with certain disfuntional things in their body and something will trigger them to disfunction which is what happened in my father's case. Because of that, the rest of our family line will probably have some form of asthma.

I smoke every once in while. 90% of the time it's just a drag or two from a freind's cigarette. That being said I've only actually smoked 2 actual ciggarettes.

I found this rather interesting video. It's worth a watch.

Same, but more with my extended family. I dont even notice it when my entire family is smoking at Christmas or general family-gatherings.
I have just a very few friends who smoke.
Well.. I dont surround myself with them every day, neither the members of my family who smoke, but smoking doesnt bother me anymore. I have smoked a few times, and i havent coughed since the second drag i ever took. I highly doubt that i would become a regular smoker, and i dont even do the social smoking-thing... Smoking isnt "cool", but i dont mind it.. Dno

I doubt she'll get addicted by a single cigarette.
I doubt that she will get cancer by a single cigarette, too.
Yes, i have tried it.
It smells so bad on you, well, everyone. I dont mind smokers, but when so much bad things is around it, cancer, the breath, the yellow teeth, the addiction, when you get that far... well, thats too bad.
Perhaps i have these opinions only because so many in my family smoke regularly. I have an uncle whos a chainsmoker and i see people getting so shocked because of it. Hes like, 45 and he just gave up on quitting. He has diabetes II and pretty bad lungs. That would be good reasons to stop smoking, but its his choice. There are loads of help to get if youre ready to quit the smoke.

smoke for thirty years regularly and there's a 50% chance of you having health problems
I'd say it misses half of the people who smoke regularly for about thirty years

Mr. Green Well, call me crazy, but I seriously doubt they quit just for the hell of it. Quitting smoking is hard and takes alot of effort. Most people start when they are young and not as informed, or they may have neglected the information they had, when they get older they realize what they're doing to thier bodies and quit. It isn't like they just get bored one day and flip a coin; heads I smoke, tails I quit!

I agree.
Most people I know who quit did so for health reasons.
I didn't.
I quit for someone else.
But when people get older they face their own mortality.
And they don't like it, so they try to become healthier.

No, lighters come important in other circumstances. Throw away your money. You are already doing so, anyway.

You wanna stop someone from smoking? I'd just show a smoker this and this. I showed those to my 17 year old sister (who recently picked up smoking and tried desperately to hide it from everyone), and well, she doesn't come home smelling like cigarettes anymore...
My mum was talking about a man who had to go through lung cancer treatment because he was a heavy smoker. The doctors would have to stick this tube into the man's lung, and drain away the tar and buildup that the smoking put there.
He said his grandson took one look at the black and brown tar-like liquid that came out of his lungs, and quit smoking right on the spot. It was so putrid and disgusting that it literally changed his grandson's life right there. I wish I knew what that stuff looked like, I'd show it to all the smokers I know and try to get them to quit.

I'd love to get my boyfriend to stop smoking. He's tried and tried so many times. This one time, I showed him the movie Requiem For A Dream, and afterwards, he made me drive us to Walmart so he could get Nicorette gum. That only lasted two weeks, but maybe if I showed him some of those pictures it might change his mind.

I love how you all buy into propaganda and are so closeminded about a subject, even condoning prohibition.

It makes me proud to know we've learned from history.
P.S. I don't planning on ever being sixty, so smoking shouldn't do shit to me.
