It should be allowed 110%, some of the nicest people are gay,and don't get to have the same rights as regular couples. I have a friend who is metrosexual, I know my sister's friend is gay and loads of fun, my cousin's uncle is gay and a great guy, and the cantor of my synagoge is gay, and one of the nicest, most talented, intellegent people I know.

for a 13 year old i have a strong veiw on this topic. I think that same sex mariages should be allowed. Its completely normal for a kid to walk down a street and see two guys or girls holding hands and say what are they doing? I think it also depends on how the child id bought up. If you have say a football player or a father who always looks at women or is married to a woman who he is always around of course this kid is gonna say i have to marry a woman. But if the father is a painter or artist who has likings in other men even if he is married this time the kid is gonna say its alright to like men. It depends on how they are bought up if they will be gay. So let them marry it would be good for kids to learn more about gay relationships.

it pisses me off so much that the govermint thinks they can tell us who to marry

it upsets me that people cant accept gay/bi people
there is a strong scientific aggrement that people are infact BORN gay.

im bi and it uppsets me that i dont have the corrage to tell my famaly/friends that, i dont think that they whould take me seiorusly(sp?).

i dont belive that god has anything agianst gays, I belive that he wishes people could be accepted for who they are

i totally agree. in fact i strongly believe in billie's point of view. that we all have it in us to be bisexual but in most cases we end up been turned away from it because of what people will say or think and thats awful.

Well, no. I see absolutly nothing wrong with liking either people of the opposite sex, or people of the same sex. I'm completly fine with it. Just, when it comes to me, I prefer guys. Its just something that I prefer. So I don't really think thats true. But it does have some truth to it.

I have nothing against gay people because really it's just 2 people who love each other; but still, its not really supposed to be because humans were made to procreate; same sex couples can't make children (not as nature intended anyway)... But don't you think the adopted child of a gay couple would get bullied at school?
Because even though everyone claims to be "cool" on the subject, children pick up the idea that gay is freaky and aren't very well informed; i know that in my house my dad's pretty homophobic and my brother thinks gay people are weird.
As for same sex marriages... I think that's ok, it's just the adopting children which isn't a good idea. For the kid's welfare.

I'm writing a book about two lesbian girls. it's i've based me on a couple of arguements i've heard. and it's quite hard for those people. i don't think it's very right to ignore them. Confused

well it is down to personal belief. but its still true that there are many people who feel this kind of thing but surpress it when you just need to be honest with yourself and others

I knew maybe two dozen kids in Canada, adopted by same sex parents. Only one of them was really bullied or anything, only because he was a complete geek. Gay kids I know don't even get bullied, if anything, my gay friend is the most popular person in the entire year. Cause he's got his guy friends and all his girl friends as well.

I don't know what's to say against it. Hetereosexuals are allowed to marry the person they love, so why shouldn't homosexual couples be allowed to do the same? Love as the feeling isn't different if you are gay or lesbian.

As for the man who doesn't want to adopt a child, I'd say he thinks about all the people who are not open minded. Maybe he's afraid the child will be teased at school or something because his/her "parents" are homosexual.

I love you!

I have been telling the same thing to people for a long time! Yes, they deserve to have the rights to get married! Gay marriages arent allowed like it s a bad thing. Love is the same thing and it cant be different beetewen gay/straight or any other. And if love makes the world go around why isnt it allowed then?

BEFORE YOU SAY ONE MORE THING PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!

this whole topic is the exact same thing, "gays can love too so they should be able to marry"

that's fine, but you all don't even know what the issue is here
marriage isn't about love, it's a Jewish tradition saying that if you are heterosexual you can get married

now, I know you're about to say that we shouldn't get religion mixed with politics, and that we should break the restriction of only heterosexuals being allowed marriage, and you're both right and wrong

we should seperate Church (synnagogue) and state, but not by making the Jews (and Christians) change their tradition, but by taking away the benefits of the tradition

it's unconstitutional to give people legal benefits because they fufilled a religious tradition, we should take marriage away from the government and keep it within the religion (and if heterosexuals want to marry, they can, Jews' rules, not mine

now, you all think homosexuals should be treated the same
and they almost are
they can get all of the benefits just by signing certain papers (my friend's unmarried heterosexual parents live this way)
but I do believe that after this country realizes that marrital benefits are unconstitutional, they'll realize that the government should give the benefits out as a package to couples who are dumb enough to believe that they'll be together forever

then, once the annulment takes place, the benefits are stripped away and the woman gets all of the possesions (I don't know who the government will favor in the case of a homosexual annulment though

but seriously, it's a Jewish/Christian tradition created in teh Old Testament, and you have your eyes so focused on the riches from the government to even think before you speak

They can't. Not in lots of states in the United States anyway. You can't claim your same-sex partner on your work benefits, taxes, and whatnot.

I agreen with you. I have never believed marriage as a thing that proves love, but by it you get those benefits. Thats the point

i think its good that gay couples can get married to show how much they do really love eachother, but i dont think its right them adopting children as one day your adopted child could turn around to them and ask why they have 2 dads/ 2 mums while his other friends have got mums and dads. and also the child will probably get the mick taken out of him at school and that

that has to do with the place they work, not the government
and the tax is the reason I said "almost"
but then again, there are a bazillion other ways to get tax cuts

and again, the whole theory about marriag being unconstitutional is unrecognized and we go back to "gays should have the same rights as straight people" oversimplifying things then I have to explain the whole thing over again because everyone has their eyes on the money and not on the real issue

you are the demonstration of the way Americans think, congradulations

I was reading news yesterday and found this:

Quote
This year, however, opposition to such a measure in Arizona is currently at 51%, with only 38% of voters supporting it, according to a recent poll, while the proposed marriage ban in South Dakota is opposed by 49% of voters, with 41% in support. In Colorado, which has ballot measures both to ban same-sex marriage and to create domestic partnerships, a recent poll showed that only 52% of voters are in favor of the former but that 58% favored the latter.

I support the thought of same sex marriage because law should not be bound to the rules of the Christian bible, they should be as free with there sexual preferences as anyone else.

Well actually california is sinking into the ocean because of the rise in sea level caused from ice melting which is caused from global warming and America is the main contributer to green house gases which causes global warming. And bush is the only G8 leader who does not want to try and put a restriction on the usage of green house gases.
