 | December 21st, 2009 at 01:32pm Well, so many peole pray for little things,
And if I uderstand God correctly and all of that,
He isn't there to give you a thing, because he doesn't owe you one thing,
And then people get mad that God didn't give them what they want...
I mean, it's flase hope.
Or maybe there is a better way to word it than Flase Hope.
That's just all I have come up with to say what I mean. |

But now I do all that with my GD poster. x) And God sometimes. |

But now I do all that with my GD poster. x) And God sometimes. This I agree with. I think that when you have no one else to go to for help, God is the "figure" to help you. It's a comforting type of thing, which is why people sometimes talk to Him.
I do the same and I pray as well but only because I like to think of it as a way of Him hearing me.
That sounded strange hahaa |

 | January 7th, 2010 at 12:24pm I don't believe in a god. But it's comforting to pray if you really need to because it's incase someone was there and listening they would hear me. I never know what to believe in. |

Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 1050 | January 10th, 2010 at 09:38am I do believe in god and I have prayed but that is only because I was brought up to know only catholisism. I don't belive in my religion and have gotton to the point where I disagree with parts of it. I personally don't believe praying works as such but I do belive in karma and that things happen for a reason. I have heard praying is comforting to some but I personally don't find it helpful. |

It's like He's the only responsible for everything and us humans aren't driven by our own will... |

 | January 14th, 2010 at 09:05am I pray at every single Orient home game in order to get through the last 10 minutes without conceding.
I can therefore confirm that praying does not work. Ever. |

 | January 14th, 2010 at 05:28pm ^^ Which is funny because God is a creater,
Not like the one holding the countroler while playing Sims.
We have free will, we work to get what we want, those who work that hardest, get what they want.
That simple, God doesn't give you shit, and praying doesn't give you it either.
Not to say that you shouldn't belive in your religion, but giving you what you want in prayer, isn't God's "job" or point or whatever, doesn't even say that in like the bible or anything |

Age: 34 Gender: Male Posts: 15969 | January 15th, 2010 at 06:02am ^ Sounds fair enough. I beliefe faith is the key in this case.
I myself am deattached of all religions, but for some reason I can't get rid of my 'faith'.
It's even written in the Bible: Those who come to Jesus shall be granted the eternal life, something like that. It's all about the faith. Just praying would be cheap, probably. |

Nothing about this subject has been "proven"
If it had, this wouldn't be up for discussion. |

 | January 18th, 2010 at 01:03pm ^^^ Explain how I am wrong?
^^ and you too.
l am right in the reguard that it isn't God's job to grant wishes..
To say praying in faith, for strength and hope, in a time of need, doesn't make you feel better and stronger, that you could say I was wrong on.
Because for many people that may be true, but either way, it's not god job to grant wishes. |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 10375 | January 19th, 2010 at 02:10am But having a faith IS meant to make you feel stronger as a person, he is not meant to solely grant 'wishes' (and I do wish that you would stop calling them that) but he does preform miracles of some description. |

 | January 19th, 2010 at 04:11pm ^^ Calling him what? God?
And I know, that is what I said,
He isn't meant to grant wishes, as many people pray, asking for things, which I relate to wishes, and yes I know that not all people ask for such things, but quite a few do.
^ I see. |

If you are going to have a serious discussion about a serious matter then stop calling them 'wishes'! Unless you can possibly explain to me otherwise. |
