| January 18th, 2007 at 01:32pm Well, I write about characters from books that really hit me, I imagine little love stories (usually sad) and write about that, I once wrote a song about how being in love would be like. Actually, some of them are poems, but its all the same. I wrote about dancing in front of my mirror to my favorite songs. I wrote about loving Billie Joe.
I wrote some of my favorite "me" songs about imagined relationships that has soooo many issues. My third one, which is my second favorite, is about nothing at all. The words of the first verse just came to me while I was washing my face O_o and then when I was writing them down, the chorus came. And I read it over and realized it was about overcoming a problem with a friend/someone you care about.
Angry songs are easy to write. Its hard to write about happy stuff because the feeling of joy and pure ecstasy and adrenaline is just so hard to describe. Write about whatever.
Here's something I always do: Have imaginary conversations or monolouges. With whoever. Just let some random sentences come out of your mouth until your brain fixes on a scene. Write about that scene. |

What I do, is that i learn really good words in school, but then i forget them. But then, when something in my life happens, and smacks me in the face, I remember the words and use 'em. (if that makes sense)
Oh, and a good tip:
DON'T FORCE OUT A SONG.
It does not work. You have to wait for it to smack you in the face. I f you say "Oh, I'm gonna write a song about being lost in the woods (or something)" It's gonna come out to sound like fucking shit. Trust me.
