Not really...they've been very mainstream since '03.
They're MTV award winners. Its not like they've 'suddenly' become anything, but most teenagers probably don't remeber the last time they were big because they were too young... No I remember them being popular before - just not on this scale. To me it's kind of like American Idiot. Suddenly EVERYONE loves them.
I haven't really noticed a massive upshoot in popularity.
Its just the same as back when Sing the Sorrow came out, but they won't be the next Green Day. Decemberunderground isn't that type of album.
Anyway, it doesn't bother me.
I've been a fan and i'll still be a fan long after any hype has died down, other people can come and go. If they are the next big thing, then hell, they deserve it. 15 years too late if you ask me. |
