I haven't lost interest in them. I just listen to other stuff the rest of the time.
I'm taking time off to remember what it's like to discover an amazing new band and race to get every single one of their songs. It's fun.

What a great way of expressing that.

I've changed my interests really.
I find modern Green Day kinda boring.
I LOVE old school Green Day though, alot.
Green Day has other albums besides American Idiot, so if you're tired of it, heres a though, dont listen! Hating New Green Day has become a new trend, after all, you're only hard core if you have listened to them since Dookie. (Never Mind the Fact they had albums out before that.)
All the 13 year olds who say Dookie was their first Green Day album crack me up, So you got it when you were 2? Wonderful.....

I'm not gonna' lie, I haven't known Green Day since I was 2, but I also know their first damned album was 39/smooth (If I am wrong, that is gonna' suck serious balls). I love all of it, and just because other people don't like new Green Day, doesn't mean I'm not going to. Screw everybody else, I have my own taste. I don't need to be hardcore. I am also not gonna' lie, and say I liked them a whole lot before American Idiot, because well what's the point? I knew who they were, but I didn't pay attention to them, which I can say was an honest mistake. I love Green Day, and I am willing to face constant ridicule at school to like what I like. Pretty much, my rents are pretty sure this isn't just a faze, so yeah. uhhhh! srry...had the sudden urg to do something stupid.

I haven't lost interest. I just don't really talk about it...I keep my interests to myself. I never figured anyone would give a shit. I don't talk about ALOT of what I like because...well, I don't know.
I found better music, is all. I hate to say they were "just a phase", but they were. Its not like I hate them now, because I definitely do not. I'm just tired of listening to them all the time, and having to put up with people bitching about who's "hotter", the controversey they bring inadvertantly, and all that other stuff.
I was just tired of dealing with that, so I stopped and moved onto other bands, who in my opinion, are much better.

Your making yourself seem like all those other people on GSB that think their too hardcore for Green Day now, like Lik said.
Hey, someone remembered what I said. I feel mildly touched.
It makes sense, thats why. Its a pretty clever statement.
I got into Green Day at about the same time as I got into 'rock' music and started dressing a little differently; growing up a bit. Basically, GD had just come out with AI and they were all over the radio, TV, everywhere. They were accesible. I joined this site because I liked Green Day. I can bet you all these 'hardcore people' thought and did exactly the same.
Now, next I started getting into other bands, better bands I think. Green Day were like a 'platform' to me, a starting point.
But what I am NOT going to do, is make out like i'm so cool for not liking them any more, and I will always have a sort of affection for them.
Difference between me and the cool people, is i'm not ashamed of what went before. It doesn't make me any better just 'cause I like different stuff now.
That's me for the most part as well.
I still love Green Day, but not to the extent I did before ... mainly because I've gotten into other types of music and bands with thanks to Green Day really.
It was easier quoting you since you said it all so perfectly then attempt myself
