Billy Talent

I'm doing a speach tonight for My horse club, and i decided to do it on my experience at My Billy talent concert, and the Meet and greet...so here it is, if you want to read it



6 more hours, 4 more hours, one more hour….

I couldn’t believe it, the day was finally here,
I was going to see my favourite band Billy Talent
preform live! I was so excited!

Counting down the hours seem to make the day seem
so much longer. I could hardly sit still in class. Trying
to concerntrat, well, that’s another story. Finally, last
class came. Surprisingly, this class seemed faster,
maybe it was because I couldn’t keep my mouth
shut about how excited I was about seeing,
Billy Talent in concert! Soon enough, the bell rang!

I practically ran over everybody, trying to get out
of the school, as fast as I could! I got my stuff, and went
to find my friend Joel, who was coming with me to the concert.
After I found him, we both headed to find my mom in the
car. We saw her, and went and got into the car; It was time
to head over to Vedder Middle to get my friend Sierra.
We picked her up, then drove to my house.

When we got to my house, it was about 3:00, so we had
and hour to get ready before we left to head into Vancouver.
Joel sat on my couch and played with my cat, while Sierra
and I showered and did our makeup.I decided to ware my
new jeans I got for christmas, my black and white checkered
belt, and my Billy Talent shirt. Sierra wore a striped shirt,
studded belt and skinny jeans; we both wore out little
skull shoes. Joel just wore what he wore to school that day.
Finally we were all ready to go, we grabed our money,
cell phones, tickets and I grabed my little red flag. We
then said good bye, and went out the door.

It took about an hour and a half to get into Vancouver,
but time went by fast, when listening to my Billy Talent
cds. In Vancouver, we all decided to eat dinner, at Subway.
I could hardly eat! I was so excited! We finshed eating, then
got back into the car to drive to the Pacific Colocium, where
the concert was playing.

In 10 minuets we were there. We jumped out of the car and
walked up the path, to get into the long line of people! As we
were walking to the line, I noticed the C. Fox Radio station
booth set up. They were giving away free posters, free cds and
other little things. So we dicided to walk over, and check it out.
We picked up the free merchendice, entered a draw, then
went to head back into line. As we were leaving, the Radio
station DJ taped me on the shoulder. I turned around, and she
said “you should stick around, Billy Talent will be stoping
by our radio station!” I just looked at her with this stunned
look on my face and said “YOU KIDDING”, she laughed
and said “YES, it is true, they will be here in 10 minuets.”
OMG, was it true, was I actaully going to meet billy talent,
was really going to talk to my Idols…for real?!

It was true, in 10 min, in walked Billy Talent. I don’t remember
what I thought at that moment, but I do remember going
completely cold! I thought I was going to pass out! There were
10 other people in line with me and my 2 friends, 10 out of
15,000 people standing inline close by! We were the only ones
who knew billy Talent was in front of us!

As I stood at the gate, Ben, the lead singer of billy talent, walked
over to me and signed my red flag. I was the first person to get
anything signed! As he was signing my flag, I noticed he was
having a dificult time with it, because it was cloth. So, my first
instink was to help him out. I flatened the flag, then out of the
ordinary, I pushed up his sleve! I didn’t mean to!! It just happened.
I felt so embarresed, I told him I was so so sorry! Surpisingly, he
just laughed, and told me It was fine! fewf, but I was still red!

After that, Aaron, the drummer, walked over. I said hello,
and he asked me how I was. I told him I was doing great,
and asked him how he was. He said he was wonderful! Aaron
took my pen, and as he was signing my flag, he put his hand on
my shoulder. Did he really just do that, I was so socked, I didn’t
even say anything!

Next to come was the guitarist Ian, by this time I had stated to
calm down, thinking clearer. As Ian was signing my red flag,
I remembered I awayways wanted to touch his
awesome hair. Ian’s hair is very unique, it stands about 20cm
above his head, in the shape of a square. He must use like a bottle
of jell! So I got to thinking, maybe I could ask if I could touch it.
To bad I was thinking so deeply, by the time I looked up, he had
already left! I felt kinda stupid! 

It was now time for the boys to go inside the radio station booth
for an interview. But, I noticed something, Jon, the bassest, hadn’t
signed my flag yet. He was already heading up the stairs. I yelled to him,
but didn’t think he would come…but, he did! I walked right back down the
stairs, and signed my flag. Goes to show you, how
down to earth, and nice the guys of billy talent are! After
that, they went into the booth. As they were talking, I could
here their interview being brodcasted over the loud speakers. so
now, the people in line could here Billy talent talking on C. Fox.
When billy talent was finished their interview, they came back
outside to us again. Now, there were more then 200 people
outside the radio booth! I was being pushed into the gate,
elbowed in the back and being completely shoved around…
but hey, I WAS RIGHT IN FRONT!

As ben and the boys were walking around, signing autographs,
I noticed bens awesome shoes! they were black and white checkers!
I nudged my friend Sierra and said “Sierra, look at bens shoes!” We
both pointed over at them and said how cool they were! As we were doing
so, Ben must have heard us, because he walked right up to me and said,
“oh you noticed, I just got them, their new!” I was so surprised he was talking
to me, I almost forgot how to speak! but I managed to tell him they looked
really good, and how I wanted a pair! That had to be the best part
of the meet and greet!

The signing was ending in 5 min, they all said good bye, and told us to have
a great time at their show. The concert was starting in half an hour,
so my friends and I, got into line. Luckly for us, the line moved fast,
we were inside within a few min! We took our seating, and got ready for
the show!

A band called Moneen open first, followed by another band called
anti-flag. The last opening act, was my other favourite band, Rise
Against, They all were amazing. Finally, the anticipated Billy Talent
came out! IT WAS AWESOME! They opend with their song called
‘this is how it goes’, and closed the show with Their very popular
song RED FLAG! now you know where I got the idea for bring my
red flag to the concert! It was the best day ever, full of excitement,
nerves, and over all surprises! On top of it all, Billy talent tought
me something really important…at the end of their show, they told us all
to “Fight for your dreams, and never give up!”

I saw a man who looked a bit like Ian today.
Yeah.

I had such a weird dream last night.

And then he put on a cape, ran through the crowd and gave me a hug. And when we pulled out of the hug, they were in my music room at home ending Devil In A Midnight Mass, but I wasn't allowed in to see, I had to wait and listen in the hall.

The Sounds were average, Enter Shikari were shit.

But then OMG. Billy Talent were just amazing. They sounded so good.

AND THEY PLAYED PERFECT WORLD AND SYMPATHY! I nearly died I was so happy.

I wore my slip on vans once, and one got lost for the entire show. I found it at the end soaked and stained.

So now I always wear converses.

Okay I have a new love for This Is How It Goes.
