Im glad someone made this thread. Ok, I was wondering how we know Mike paid for a room at billies house when they were kids? He moved in when he was 15 right? You can't legally hold a job until you're 16. And the way they made it sound on driven, Oillie was happy to let him stay there with Billie and his family.

Is there an interview where he says he rented a room or something?

well part of it maybe is that the laws may have been a bit different when Mike was a kid than they are now..

Didn't Billie's mother work there as well, maybe she pulled a few strings?

Yeah, here you can get a part-time job at 14. But, that's here. And we're weird. So who knows, really, unless we want to look up California laws of the 1980's.

Hey you know he has a child hood like mine, Same thing happend to me but my mom wasnt addicted to heroin. I know exactly how he feels. i have to give him a hand for getting this far. you know i could have listened to my parents fight and have the worst day in the world. But then just Think about Mike and how he got though all that like me. That is what got he though. I read the question someone asked about how Mike payed for the room at Billie's house, and I asked one of my teachers who is also a career adviser. She said that you CAN work if you're under 16, but you have to be played cash instead. It's not illegal, but it is if you're paid via an account.

I hope that answers your question! Also, maybe Ollie did pull some strings, and instead of paying Mike, they let him stay at the Armstrongs.
