I heard he wrote it in New York when he took a vacation out there. He said there was alot of getting drunk and song writing.

I dont think Billie actually did any writing while in New York. he might have got some ideas then though. bobd was no doubt started while out walking which is when he has said he comes up with a lot of his lyrics.

and its brainstew he wrote because he couldnt sleep and that was when Jakob was a baby.

I should imagine Adrienne would slap him if he`d started playing the drums at night, and certainly wouldnt let him have them in the babies bedroom.

They aren't babies anymore! The kids probably have their own little drum kit things in their rooms!

Yeah, i clearly remember reading that his "kid was learning to play the drums, so i put a small set in his room, and was messing around on it one night and came up with the drum track for BLVD of broken dreams..."

But yeah, Billie was a veggie for a while when he was with a girlfriend who persuaded him to be. He quit it when he lost too much weight and began to feel ill. Years and years ago.
So yeah. I'll be back in two or three pages when someone asks the same question again. And again.
