When American Idiot came out I loved it, so then that was my favourite. Now I think I probably prefer some of the earlier stuff. There are certain songs that I love from every album but I probably listen to Kerplunk the most. |

I don't listen to them as much anymore, but it doesn't change that I will always hold a special place for them.
My reasoning is that, even though their music has changed some, they are still the band I've loved since I was 6. Changing music, is just a sign of evolution. Not worth bashing for, because regardless, if music does not change, everything would sound the same and get monotonous after a while. If they didn't change some of the way they sounded, a lot more people would have gotten tired of them before now.
Besides, it's not like you're gonna enjoy listening to the same sounding thing over and over, most like something refreshing and new. |

They'd be praising if it were more underground. 
And I won't say old to make me look hardcore and that I've known about them forever. That's ridiculous. I think some people are scared to say new because they think it'll make it look a "poser fan."
BULLSHIT. 
You can like ANY era of the music and still be just as big of a fan as the next guy.

AI was good when it came out , they just tried to do to much with it
and then some of the videos (JOS) were so stereotyipcal (sp?) with jimmy all pissed of and ''punked out''

It seems like when bands experiment, there fans all of a sudden hate them. And it think that's stupid. I love both. AI was my first GD CD, but then I decided to listen to their old stuff. Now I love both. AI isn't my favorite GD CD, but it is definitely in a close second. |
