| July 22nd, 2007 at 10:55pm *heavy breathing* OHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just finished the book probably ten minutes ago, and it was so good! It was gripping until the very end. I LOVED all the quotes on all the headstones. "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also," "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death," and I really liked "Here lies Dobby, a free elf."
, , and at Mrs. Weasley's " Not my daughter, bitch!" I didn't think Jo oculd get away with that.
Sometimes, it reminded me of the last two Pirates of the Caribbean movies, in that there were quite a few plotlines going on at once, but it all was resolved at the end. Also, the second-to-last chapter, where Harry "visited" Dumbly, it was really weird. I liked how Dumbledore cleared things up, but it was still a strange scene, to me. And what the hell was the baby-thing behind them?
I have to say, I let a dry sob out for pretty much everyone who died, even Bella. After I read Snape's death, I thought about Meg and for Fred I thought about dookie and for Lupin, I thought about Ivana, but maybe I'm just a weirdo stalker.
Yay at everyone whose theories were right, you deserve a cookie. I was standing in Wally World yesterday morning at the checkout before we actually bought the book, and I giggled when I read the chapter titles and saw "Gringotts."
Oh, I could go on and on about this one, I really liked it. I liked the epilouge, and I think it might have made me want to go and read some post-Hogwarts fics. |

I thought it was all very interesting. I loved how Grindelwald put Dumbly in a bad light, no matter how much I love Albus. I felt terrible for Ariana every time I read anything about her, and Aberforth made me want to cry, but I don't know why. I think it's because he really wanted his siter to be okay, and really felt resentment for his brother, but didn't do anything until Grindelwald showed up. |

And the stuff with Dumbledore's family made him seem so much more human in my eyes, because you see that he has faults, and he's not this selfless person that we all think he is. But I think it was so sad, especially because he was so hard on himself, because he's not a selfish person, he felt the same as anyone in his position woul dhave done.
I mean, he was this genius who could do anything he wanted, yet he was stuck at home caring for an ill sister and a slightly deranged brother with a goat fetish. Who wouldn't be sick of it? |
