Haha, anyone may read the Snonks, and yes, you do have a VERY good ava.

And the stuff with Dumbledore's family made him seem so much more human in my eyes, because you see that he has faults, and he's not this selfless person that we all think he is. But I think it was so sad, especially because he was so hard on himself, because he's not a selfish person, he felt the same as anyone in his position woul dhave done.

I mean, he was this genius who could do anything he wanted, yet he was stuck at home caring for an ill sister and a slightly deranged brother with a goat fetish. Who wouldn't be sick of it?
Cool and thanks

And actually I was quite angry that Dumbles never revealed any of this sooner you know?
But it also prooves, it's never too late to change.

Nobody's perfect, Dumbledore included.

And I don't think he really let him down. Harry survived, defeated Voldemort, and became a much better man thanks to Dumbledore. Without Dumbledore's influence, Harry wouldn't be half the man he is today, I don't think.

Well I do agree that he has had a god influence on Harry, but I also think that he caused him to go through a lot of pain he could have been prepared for.. I think he should have trusted Harry with the fact that if he had explained what was going on, then Harry would still have been able to carry out his task.

What, the stuff about his family?

Would you tell a student your biggest regret in life?

Dumbledore was selfless in that his main concern was always getting Harry through everything. He never once thought of himself, never once unburdened all his worries onto Harry, never once knowingly did him wrong. I think Dumbledore has been astounding, and human.

Not really the family but Harry being a Horcrux, but then I see why he wouldn't. I'm so like iosy9g798y4wgshgiu in my brain.

Yes but had Harry known about the Hallows, Dumbledore said, he might have made the same mistakes that Dumbledore did. The resurrection stone, for example. What would be the first thing Harry would have done with that?

His parents?

Sirius?

Dumbledore?

No, I think Harry needed to find it out on his own.

It's not the destination, but the journey, that matters, and I think it is a much more valuable experience for Harry to have to work it out on his own.

Harry would have been shitting himself for ages if he had said. Harry only had, what, ten minutes to think about it before he went and did it? If I knew I had to die, I'd much rather do it in the next ten minutes than in five years time.

Knowledge of that sort of thing is awful.

Valuable, but cruel. I just think it was a lot of responsibility to put on such young shoulders. Especially because Harry is so alone, when Dumbledore himself could not even do it.

I also dont get why he hadn't done more to destroy the other Horcruxes, which he must have known of for quite a while..

Harry was always going to have the responsibility, ever since Voldemort tried to kill him. It would be foolish to keep it from him, because the more prepared he is for facing Voldemort, the better.

And Dumbledore could not do it because of his personality and the way he is, not because of knowledge, or power. Harry could do it because he was so selfless, and so willing to do what he set out to do.

As for the other horcruxes, he wouldn't have been able to kill Nagini, he didn't know about the diadem, and he wouldn't have been able to access Bellatrix's Gringotts vault. He died trying to get the locket, so I think that's a pretty big sacrifice too.

Besides, Dumbledore could only guess about the Horcrux theory, until Harry got the memory off Slughorn, which was only a few months before Dumbledore died.

I honestly believe that Dumbledore did the very best he could for Harry, and any mistakes he did make were made because he cared too much about Harry, like the with holding of info. The knowledge would have been an even greater burden when h e was younger, and it's all a matter of judgement.

Can I say, the whole King's Cross chapter was quite weird?! Cheese ... Like JK thought "fuck shouldn't have killed Dumbledore, how do I explain the rest" kinda.

I think the whole thing with Dumbledore was good, he needed Harry to learn things on his own. Plus he sisn't know where the others were or even what they were. Harry found out about the one in Bella's vault by change, the same goes for the Diadem.

Also, I think that Dumbledore making mistakes showed that he was only human and capable of making them, and wasn't as perfect as everyone thought, that he too had flaws, this was really brought home by Aberforth Dno
