A tragic demise at the end of an evil era when they'd only just had a son. Its actually quite cheesy when you think about it. And the Arthur Weasley thing didn't get rewritten in book 7, I think it was in book 6 that he was initially saved. Probably when the snake attacked him. Yes. Arthur was going to be killed off in Book 5 or 6. But JK didn't. She killed Tonks and Remus instead.
